Today, I noticed a sudden disappearance of all of my Goarticles from Google. I mean, when I said a "site:" I don't even see the articles. And I am talking about articles ranked on the first page till yesterday for even more than a year all through - including some #1 rankings for a long period (a number of months an even more than a year in some cases) - not fresh articles that got indexed yesterday.

Any idea what's happened? Is anyone else experiencing anything like this? This seems too much of a coincidence to be a Google dance. And also I logged in and checked that my Goarticles account is as it always was.

Bumping in hope of a reply. Or am I the only one in the world to talk about GoArticles nowadays?

By the way, I was checking for "backlinks" remembering the famous GoArticle from fellow Warrior Angela Edwards - did not see it either on the top page of Google.com.

The articles are still there, the 'backlinks' one is on page 2. Google has been dancing around a lot lately. Or maybe goarticles had fallen out of favor even more.

I just found Angela's Goarticle listed as #3

Goarticles does carry a lot of spam articles. It's not the first place I go to (except for a quick backlink)

GoArticles out of favor? I don't know, till day before yesterday I have had some #1 ranks with them still, though I agree some of my older #1's had fallen of to simply page-1 ranks.

You are right - I found "backlinks" on the second page too - I did not notice that initially.

But my GoArticles - all of them - have fallen. I mean, there is no reason for Google to take all my GA's (and understand that all of them are mine) and take them away - I hardly suspect they would have this info and
that they would care about it. These were multiple niches!

I am just hoping that it is a dance that Google has been experiencing of late because of their recent issues.

Not just a dance. Angela's article has been gone from the front page for a long time. Funny thing is the top spots for backlinks are no longer held by sites that primarily use profile backlinks that Angela made the word popular for.

You are not the only one experiencing this. All my first page ranking for Goarticles I had has gone off serp and I cannot even find them when I search using the article title or url. I believe there is something going on.

Oh, yeah, that is EXACTLY what is happening to me - I don't seem to find any of them after similar efforts as you did. Very very very strange, given that some of them had held firm at #1 ranks also and even more than a year. Well, surely they would bump up, and hopefully soon enough without causing much of a disruption. Crossing fingers.

I'm getting the same thing here guys.

Had page one ranking in #3 position for a keyword I targeted a while back and now I don't see it anywhere on Google.. seriously, ANYWHERE!

Also did what Young Money did, searching the URL of the article came up with just the sites where I left backlinks on.

Although, on another GOA account one of my articles is still where it's always been, right on the first page for a different keyword.

It's probably a Google dance, hopefully

All of mine that were on page 1 are now gone. I had several with varying domains and number of backlinks, all low to modest competition.

This problem cab be happened for many websites. I have seen many websites that the indexed pages on them will be removed from Google after some days. I don't know the reason but i experienced it yet and its not strange.

Yea, I think google's been having some troubles lately. They're not dancing anymore, they've fallen and they can't get up.

I checked the webmaster tools a few days ago, it showed I had 4 backlinks. Ok, a little understated. Checked it a few days later, it's up to over 6000. Closer to correct.

Now I've got about a hundred 404 crawl errors showing. I click the link there and go straight to the page. They've got some issues but they will never admit it.

Just a tip for you SERP watchers: Google listings CYCLE through out the day. Not a lot of people know this. Depending on the time of day, a certain website with a certain rank may be higher or lower in the results. Depending on the time of day, there may also be news slots or images inserted where there weren't before. Make sure that you don't have history or preferences enabled when you're looking for a particular website in the SERPS as well, as this can make it seem like a website is dancing. I speak from experience... have have studied the SERPS for a particular phrase over the course of 12 hours once...and got pretty interesting results.

Cool one. But I guess for tracking ranks, the best way to do is to use a proxy server with cookies disabled for a given geographical location.

And by the way, Google is smarter than only what you mentioned below. Do this before you travel to a different state the next time.

Search your physical product but do not type the location before you lease. Observe and note the search results.

Reach, say, Las Vegas from New York (just example places, does not have to be these two cities). Do a few Las Vegas specific searches over the next couple of days on Google. Then, while still in Las Vegas, look for the same physical product keyword. In fact, now that I think of it, maybe look for golf clubs both before leaving NY and now after these couple of days (make sure that you do not touch golf clubs in this gap). Again, don't mention the place. Now, you are going to see different search rankings.

You are going to see different results.

And once you come back to NY and do a bit of Googling again, you shall start to see those old NY search results.

Note: I am going by an experience shared by my friend, did not have a chance to run this test case myself as it involves much more than simply doing Google searches. I am relying on his testing abilities to say all of this. Please don't hold me responsible if this is not the case, but please feel welcome to support/contradict and I shall simply take that away as a piece of humble knowledge given/gifted away to me.

Update to this news. While all other GoArticles of mine still remain disappeared including ones that have held #1 ranks for their niches, the most powerful one that I had in terms of backlinks has come back out of the blue.

It used to be #1, #1 and #1 in its prime time for all its three main keywords (and had gone down a few notches for a keyword or two when GoArticle had started its descent a few months back, but was still at page-1 for all three and #1 for one keyword if I remember it correctly). Now it is back at #12, #1 and #2 for the same three main keywords.

I did not build a single link to this consciously within this period.

I am also happy to report that some of my Goarticles is back to first page where it used to be. I think Goarticles made some changes that impressed Google. I noticed there is no ads by the articles like they used to have. I am sure there are major changes that Goarticle has made. Anyway, nice to see my articles back on first page : )

I think Goarticles changed their url structure, which screwed up rankings for awhile. Once Google takes into account for the re-direct to the new url, your rankings should come back. Mine have for the most part. Might want to make a note of it though, and make sure any new link building goes to the new article url and not the old one.

Goarticles are not very good. I submitted 2 articles 1 month ago. Added a couple of links pointing to them to get spidered, and guess what? Not cached. Nope. Not even cached in Google.

Something is wrong with their site, or Google is bearing down upon it.
