Backlinks from low PR internal pages of a high PR site?

Morning Warriors,
Here's something that's been bothering me for some time:

There's a lot of high PR sites out there with low PR internal pages. How effective are backlinks from these pages?

Say my link is in an article from the Huffington Post (a PR8 site), but the article itself is PR0, do I get none of that juice? I know I could maybe get SOME traffic, but purely in the sense of nutritious, delicious link juice?

The same applies to blogs, forums and certain kinds social bookmarking sites.

(I do understand that pagerank might rise faster in these internal pages, but that isn't what I'm asking about)

I'd look at the domain authority and trust rather than pagerank for effective backlinks. So if it's an authority site, get 'er done.

That is something I've been wondering for the longest, however it's difficult to get a backlink from the home page itself.
