SEO CUSTARD CONTENT CREATION QUIZ

I’m trying to build a blog that ranks well so I can drive traffic to my money sites. In this example I used 'Custard" as the main niche. My results returned
(from higher to lower traffic daily/results).
custard, 26/8,889.0000
custard recipe, 26/66,900
italian desserts 26/ 62,500
healthy desserts 14/83,7000
egg custard recipe, 12/ 16,900
easy cheesecake recipe 12/34,000
And
(from lower to higher results.)

What I want to do is get as much traffic for my fictional custard recipe eBook site to do that I need to write, hire, spin, or auto create content and then do something with that content... That’s about where my knowledge runs out. So I thought I would post a quiz.
QUIZ
1) What domain would you choose and why? (pretend you can only get .info, Edomain.com or hyphen.com for all of them, no 100% match)
2) Would you keep or delete all the key words that don't contain the word custard
3) Would you commission content and build separate small blogs for each and all keywords and just target every article on that one keyword. i.e. have categories and articles on health deserts, top 10 healthy deserts, health deserts for travel, (not actual keywords) repeat for all keywords, so 5 blogs in total, each with 5 categories. all on the same keyword.
4) Or just do that for the custard ones
5) Would you commission content and build a separate blog for each keyword and actually do more keyword research on that keyword to get new categories like healthy desserts, healthy eating recipes, rice pudding recipe, trifle recipe (actual results) so it goes broader but less specific.
6) Would you commission content and build one single mega blog the main domain choice and use each keyword as a category and then all the sub keywords as articles and try and get that site to rank for all the keywords at the same time. I.e. a big mega site.
7) Once you decided would you pay for quality content or auto-blog it.
8) Would you put the quality information on the articles sites for the back links and lesser quality on the blog or would you put the lower quality on the article sites and higher quality on the blog.
I’m in it for the long game.

PS: Please tell me if I’m way off, I’m new to SEO. Also feel free to point me to resources that answer these questions. Its a lot of questions which highlights my current confusion. I have two websites making decent money from list building and JVs and I’m now confident enough in my conversions to invest in seo-blogs to get more traffic to my sites. I would welcome any suggestions as while I figured out how to find good keywords I still have no idea really what to do with them.
