Now that Google changed Places they're headed back to their old playing field

It seems that Google is introducing "Brand", "Store" and "Type" into commodity type product searches. This breaks the real estate into even more bits and pieces. Any thoughts on the impact for Organic ranking, Offline markets and Affiliate products.

    I know it's better for the consumer, but it's not so far off now from Google deciding who gets to be on top essentially.
