Hi, I am relatively new to internet marketing. I've been playing with it since about 09' but really want to get some concrete things put in place.

My whole goal is to collect email addresses in my niche market of real estate investing so that I can market products to them over time.

As of right now the only thing that I have is a squeeze page.

I have been doing some article marketing and social bookmarking, but most people in my niche spend a lot of money on ppc campaigns.

Where should I go from here? Do I need a blog. I want to be capturing 50 new people per day or more........is this possible????

I'm new and I absolutely love internet marketing, but don't know which direction to go.

Creating a blog for this purpose will be beneficial for you as you wanted to target 50 people of daily basis. So create a blog, put quality content there and then retain those visitors.

    Thanks

Create an ebook/report on something related to that niche and offer it for free once they sign up. You'll need a good auto-responder like Aweber as well.

I recommending using a Blog, Twitter, FaceBook. Also there are some niche real estate advertising sites and forums that you could use to increase your exposure / build some quality related inbound backlinks.

I have a squeeze page with a free report. My issue is do I need a blog with an opt-in box?

Also, what kind of traffic expectations should I have? I have friends that have 80k people on their opt-in lists and I want to get to that point.

If I could get 50 opt-ins a day I would be extremely happy.

You are in a very competitive market, so PPC will be rather expensive. PPC can be very beneficial, but it requires a big learning curve - setting up a basic campaign on AdWords won't do the job... Also, before spending lots of money on PC you should make sure that your conversion & sales funnel is well optimized.

I'd say, build a blog, do something unique noone else is doing on your market, provide lots of great content for free, get a good autoresponder (aweber, getresponse), interview successful real estate investors and provide the interviews to your newsletter readers....

Don't worry about monetizing at the beginning (for the first 4-8 months) - build trust & confidence, provide great stuff... and then start recommending excellent offers, place ads on your blog, sell link space, sell your own info products, seminars...

Treat it like a business and be patient.

    Thanks hh37

That is some great info. I have the autoresponder piece, and I am going to def implement the blog idea.

Is it best to link the blog off of the url I have for my squeeze page or should I get a completely different URL for the blog?

    Does that make a difference?

Thanks for all of your help everyone!!!

If I were you, I would have the blog as another page on my site. That way, every time you update the blog, you'll get "credit" for updating your site, and you'll have a better chance of getting everything to rank better.

Of course, to get the most out of your blog, you're going to have to promote the heck out of it. But, I think having it could really help you. After all, people can be very picky about who they give their email addresses to. If you provide them with some solid information on your site that shows off your knowledge, them promise them a newsletter series or free ebook in exchange for signing up, it should really help you get more subscribers.

I really enjoy all the post by all the warrior members. I believestlmrk will get different experience concerning this issue.

first I want you to believe that no one start as guru. What can turn you to super affilaiteer is what you are doing - getting ideas and advice from others -

First I will advice you to promote PPC but with free voucher first this will enable you to know what really works and what you need to spend your hard earned money on.

Secondly, I think having a squeeze page really helps. Drive most of your traffic to a squeeze page where your visitors can get freebies in return and you capture their e-mail.

I don't think there is limit to what you can learn but start from somewhere and you will surely get somewhere - TOP? YES.
