Has Adwords Changed to Allow URL Redirections?

I've recently found a coupla Adwords ads, that redirect directly to the aff link of the promoted CB product.

Meaning, the domains used are only redirections to clickbank aff links. No real landing page/preselling. Has Adwords allowed this recently??

Well then, how are those advertisers doing it for seemingly a long time? Is it just still a matter of time before they get the hammer?

I had set-up a domain with Forward and Mask to a landing page on my main domain. Google Adwords was pointing to that domain.

I just got a "Google AdWords Violation" email today.

"Google AdWords prohibits websites that mirror or frame another website."

So yes, I would say it's just a matter of time before they get the hammer

What you are refering to would be a direct link using the affiliate url which is allowed / there is no redirection at all / just people using the link supplied by clickbank.

unless they are displaying an alternate display url then using as below \/

They weren't doing direct linking. They were using an alternative url to forward.

But are you sure that using the bare naked cb aff links directly, is allowed? I don't think it is.

Google requires your Display URL and your Destination URL to match.

By destination url, I mean where the user ends up after the redirection or affiliate link.

So if your hop links goes to mycoolsite.com You would have to use mycoolsite.com as your display url.

Google does allow your to use an affiliate link BUT....

Google will only show one ad per display url.
This means that if the site owner or any other affiliates are creating ads
for the site, you will have to outbid or out perform thier ads to even get your ads shown. This can become very costly.

It is better to create your one site (review for example). In this way
you can control the content, You can give away stuff or pre sell to build lists before providing the link to the affiliate site.

This is give you more control over your quality score and keep you from having to ourbid to just get your ad shown at all.

And let's not forget that many CB product owners do not allow you
to use their domain in adwords.

I think redirects are perfectly okay for adwords, but read the rules carefully.
I'm too lazy to look them up. Think logically. Google expects people to
use some sort of tracker, and many of these are benign redirects.

No harm, no foul in legit cases.

It's when you start doing crazy things, man, crazy things.

OK it has probably been covered above, but in reply using a URL to forward / mask / is against terms and why there is a problem, this would create a difference in display and land URL as explained.

With the direct link yes you can do it all day long, and done it all of the time and was the only method i used when i used to run CB products.

used to run CB / as in i would not recommend any one promote CB with adwords for many reasons / the first being they cared about their account.

each to their own, just do you home work very well if treading the CB / adwords walk of horrors.
