I suggest you only pay for the approved comments. It's a bit more expensive, but it's worth it; also, make a daily basis schedule, as you don't want to gain too many too fast and check the yesterday ones every single day.

Also, if this freelancer won't accept these terms, move on - there are plenty out there who can't wait to jump on a job like this one.

Also, some of them have lists of their own with blogs that accept comments and are dofollow. Just insist.

I think that if you are going to outsource like that then you are going to have lower quality than if you payed a slightly higher price.

If you are paying for links, I would not rely only on blog comments. They have a low approval rate and are all subject to deletion. Your $7 is much better spent getting an article written and spun. You can then manually submit to some high PR article directories.

This will be so much more effective (and less headache) than what you are doing now.

I totally agree, I use ODesk and Backlinkteam.com to get lots of high quality backlinks on the cheap. With ODesk you will need to manage your team, on Backlink team you tell them your URL and they figure out the best use of your keywords, find the off-shore employees, manage them and send you reports. They are about the same price as ODesk but you get their experience and management help for the same price so I usually go with them when feeling a bit lazy.
