So I finally got number one for my search term. I want to cut back now on my linking to a minimum so i can concentate on other stuff. What do you think I should do for a minimum? I was thinking of creating an article every few days for ezine, what else is quick an easy? Someone said some blog posts. if I do this do i need to get links with my anchor text or will a my name which is more likely to get accepted do the same job?

Thanks for any info.

nice! good job.. ya article and or blog posting occasionally.. i read about others here that they leave a blog alone for a while and it still does pretty well.. resilient things they seem like.

Both are good...you can do whichever you like...the quality of the writing would matter in both the cases.

In most cases, you don't need to continually add content but it does depend somewhat on the traffic you're chasing.

If you're looking for trends based traffic then you need to blog every day to sustain traffic levels. For example, if you're following celebrities, sports, politics or other such topics you have to stay on the cutting edge. However, if you're writing about left handed knitting, underwater basket weaving or some other 'evergreen' type topic you don't need to post often at all.

For example, some of my highest paying niche sites haven't seen significant updates since late 2007 or early 2008 and each of them get between 500-1500 unique visitors each day, 95% of them from search engines. Even my product review blog in my sig, where I did chase trends for a while and which I haven't updated much recently, gets considerable residual traffic and makes decent money.
