Insurance Niche Too Competitive?

Are the Car, Home, Health, & Life insurance niche's too competitive for article marketing to work?

Has anyone had success getting traffic from articles written for these fields? Do my articles have any chance of ranking well for long tail keywords?

I wrote about 20 articles for my life insurance site. Not alot of traffic and they disappear quickly from the serps. Target the adjustable mortgage niche, it paid me on average 2.50 per click

I think you're much better of finding better niches or finding niches within insurance industry by targeting the long-tail.

I have life insurance articles ssubmitted to EzineArticles and some have success and some do not. the ones that do have a grip are those with long tail keywords. And as Captivereef said, they do quickly disapear, they do not stay very long but they too get paid more than 1.25 per click.

On the mortgage side, they do stay very longer, in fact one of my article has been there for almost 4 months now and pulling more..

    I hope this may help.

    Thanks for the responses.

Let me clarify: my strategy doesn't involve EZine as much. I'm just posting articles on my website, targeting long-tail words, and hoping to get a small but steady stream of organic search.

Is that unrealistic for these niches?
