Hi all,
Facebook and twitter both are really good social networking sites having millions of visitors. But which one is better social networking site for increasing visitors and promotion for the website. And how i can increase my followers in facebook and twitter.... Is there any shortest way to increase the followers. Please help...

    I prefer to use face book becasue I feel very comfortable with it. Both arevery good social networking medium through which you can able to stay in touch with your friends, relatives, co-workers, business partners etc.

    Facebook is good for promoting and advertising, cause it has special options for such kind of things, and Twitter is just awesome for holding your auditory. That's my opinion.
    The easiest and fastest way to increase the followers is to buy them, heh. Otherwise you'd work on your auditory and write interesting content to make people retweet and follow you.

      You have to look at the bottom line. Stats.

      twitter links get clicked on many, many more times than a link in facebook.

      From a pure marketing standpoint, twitter wins hands down.

      Your tweets can show up in search engines.

      I have no idea how twitter can be hard to understand. Light years
      easier than facebook. I don't even have a clue as to this comment:
      I prefer Facebook its good, because of its easy to understand structure, and results, i am not saying twitter is not good for results, but twitter is difficult to understand by new users
      facebook for me is just too social. And it's starting to annoy me, actually.

    I like both. I use twitter to increase my rankings for my site by simply adding my url to my twitter account. Quick way to get indexed and ranked. Also, facebook for network. So they both are good.

    I would say Facebook. I read a report that said ~97% of all tweets are completely ignored. And it makes sense. I have 750 followers (and 750 that I'm following back) and in an hour there are 4000+ tweets. I generally just read the first few and skip over ones that look like advertisements. I'm sure most normal users simply look for tweets by their friends and ignore everything else. You can do your best to pick out people using your keywords, but I still think it's going to be a hard way to promote anything.

    You know, I'd believe that about tweets. The unfortunate thing is that I have a LOT more twitter followers than I do Facebook.

    I think people are more selective on who they "like" on facebook. So you have to really work to get those fans. BUT they are also more interactive once you have them.

    So it's kind of a quality vs quality thing imo. Not saying my Twitter followers aren't quality....they just ignore me a lot LOL

    It all depends on your followers or friends. I get more traffic from facebook to my site. I get traffic from twitter to my content. I know if you have a good Twitter profile, you can develop good PR from your twitter profile for a linkback to your site. I have not yet seen a facebook profile with PR yet though. Search your name and both your Twitter and Facebook profiles should be in the top 2 pages of Google if you are using your profiles regularly.

    I prefer Twitter for getting traffic from. It helps me more than Facebook. But as you said Twitter is a bit more complicated than Facebook but you will learn it easily when you work with it.

    It depends. Twitter is less problematic in the character limit, but it is annoying. Facebook is better, but too much attention whores and Facebook is **** in private. On Facebook we have more potential to reveal information that may be sick, while Twitter, tweet would be foolish for information.

      I think that the facebook is the part of the Social networking site also the Twitter that both are used for the getting the traffic on the site and to improve the PR of the site that makes the sense to increase the backlinks of the site and chance to get more and more visitors on the site.Twitter is a bit more complicated than Facebook,Facebook is easy to learn.

    Amongst facebook and twitter, I think facebook is quite popular amongst people and user friendly too. I always prefer to use that as I always gets good result to what I used to get from twitter.
