Recently GP changed everything. I am curious, what you have found to be the best way to tackle the new layout, differences, etc. ?

Any thoughts are welcome

    Hi there

I've just used it as normal, making it keyword rich, very informative, a lot of content, images and videos on there and they're ranking like gangbusters.

    regards

I've got a client that's been in the seven pack for years but suddenly got dropped. She was totally freaked because that listing gets/got her a lot of business.

To get her back in the seven pack there's really only two things I did. I populated her Google places listing with every scrap of information they requested -- I even created videos to fill all the spots. Next I went over to Yahoo's version of Google places and totally filled in a profile there. A couple weeks later and she's back in the seven pack -- hallelujah!

Is Yahoo even worth bothering with since Bing bought all of it's content and is merging together?

One of the good things of our approach is that it is easier to get a complete picture of each place. Our new look will find many more links on the pages of search results, often 30 or 40 instead of eight or 10 searches, you often get to these places looking for a single search. We look at where the research to save people an average of two seconds to look up information on the site.
