"My" Domain Name's Taken--What are my Options?

There is a certain domain I'd like, but it's taken. I was wondering how effectively I could compete by adding a suffix like KeywordGuide or KeywordResource (these variations are available, but the hyphenated variations are not (It's a 2 word keyword)

How much harder would I have to work if I can't get Keyword .com .net or .org?

According to TrafficTravis it says competition is "Relatively Easy"

I've read many gurus who say a small suffix is ok. "info" (not .info) is a good choice. You don't want to dilute the keyword too much with a long suffix.

A domain is important but I rank next to an EMD with just a matching post title.

Well, assuming that he is planning to build a site that provides mainly information on some topic and it is not eCommerce site or anything then .info would be better than just adding info to the keywords.

      Example:

Dogtraininginfo.com does not look and sound as good as dogtraining.info would.

Well, that is what I think, anyway.

And I am not saying here that adding suffix would any way make SEO harder as both of the examples above will rank equally depending on the SEO you will apply.
