Does anyone know if Google gives more ranking weight to .com than other extensions? .biz are half the price of .com.

I'm strictly building lead generating sites so having something that's memorable is not an issue whatsoever.

Thanks.

Theres not any exact statistics. But it seems that common extensions like .com,.net and .org considered better that .biz domains. Its just guess and no one exactly knows it. So if you can, its better to register a .com domain.

Most of the advice definitely does say to go for .com over anything else, but I think it's mostly because it helps you brand yourself. (searchers who want to find your site are going to expect it to be .com, .com makes you seem more legit and professional...etc)

From an SEO standpoint, I don't think it really makes any difference, but I could be wrong. Would be curious to hear what others say.

I used to rank with .biz and other "weaker" extensions, but now when I have some capital I always buy .com domains - reading and hearing so many discussions about .com vs other extensions I tend to believe that .com is better in some way but I couldnt give you the final answer. One thing is for sure, it is possible to rank with other domain extensions when you do enough backlinking.
