Another record day for me with AdSense

I am loving life, and my writer now. I just had my first $100 day a couple or three days ago, and now I have my first $200 day, and there is still a while to go for my time zone.

Not a big deal by some I know. However, I just wanted to share my good news. This is from just one web site, and it is a quick rise for me as just a couple of weeks ago I was bitching that I couldn't get a page on G's front page, and the last few days I am getting multiple First page number one or close to it listing in G and GN SERP listings. Things have sure changed for me lately. And I am lining it a lot.

Thanks to everyone here, and especially E. Brian Rose, who has helped me a lot.

You know, you can do this too. It is not that really that hard. Just takes a little work. I have to pay my writer, but that till leaves me most of it as profit. I am sure by the enbd of the day, there will be way over $200 left for me. But it takes daily work. If you don't want to put in the daily work, then I would say, you need to find another venue. But it is not really what I call work, I am having fun. Go for it, it can really pay off. I aint that smart, but I have done pretty well so far.

Yep, great job @TimPears. I think you make a really great point in this post that often times it's not a matter of finding that magic bullet to making money online. It's simply a matter of grinding it out day after day until you can just build enough content for this to work.

I'm sure your results are only going to get better over time.

I looked for that magic bullet, over and over. This one got me hooked as I love the news. I spent over two months building this site and then after GN approved me (approximately a month ago), I spent a couple of weeks plus, before I was making any money consistently. Now it is just going gang busters.

Didn't I say in the post that this is from one site. I only have the ads on one site. The others are not doing anything. This was done with one site, publishing three to five articles per day, every day. I even do it on weekends as I love what I am doing. But many just work Monday to Friday.

Thanks for the congratulations folks. I appreciate it.

I was lucky enough to get a referral to a good writer. I was going crazy firing writers until Tina gave me his email address. We have worked well together ever since. Which reminds me, I was supposed to pay him today. I better do that before I go to bed. It is past my bed time already.

I have two banners below the title, and one banner mid way down the article. I got no secrets, check out my site at*****sorry I had to remove this

My writer is concentrating on writing or rewriting news articles now. If that is what you are looking for, then send me a PM. He might be willing to do regular SEO article stuff, but I think he prefers to do the news. I don't know if he has any more available slots, that I can't guarantee. But I am more than willing to make a referral if he has available time.

One site. Multiple niches I would guess. It is a general news site, so what ever is in the news is prime material. Especially if it will convert to decent CTR. That is the trick. The articles don't stay up like the articles you spent months doing back linking for. But I publish an article, and ten to fifteen minutes later it is on Google News first page, and maybe on G as well. Last few days, I have had multiple articles make it to G and GN first page number one spot, and a couple that made it to a little lower down.

I have had over 7K page views today, and over 6K unique, and 37 returning. I am starting to build a following as my returning seems to be getting larger each day. I am kind of proud of my site. But I plan to sell it shortly and start another one. So if you know anyone that would be interested in buying it, let me know. I would rather not put it on Flippa if possible. I am kind of attached to it, so I might now sell, but I am really tempted. I think it would fetch a good price. I have had 23K visitors this past week. If I was list building, I could make a fortune I would think. But I don't really grasp the list building stuff.

But anyway, I got to go to bed. it is past my bed time.

Sometimes you think it is better to build a quality site that has a lot of loyalty, but it seems to me, that it is better to have a site that attracts the traffic, but low loyalty. Low loyalty = users more likely to click a link to leave your site.

I have a website and I have regular 100 user they visit my site daily..if one user click on add from my site today and sure i will be paid for that but what about that scenario if the same user come online after 24 hours or some time later and click on that same add again.I will be paid twice or just once for that second click.

I took E. Brian Rose's training and am a member of his forum. I hope that is not going to get all the whiners at the GN forum reporting me for SPAM as they think that all of EBR's students are SPAMers. That is not what he teaches, and if you SPAM GN, you will get de-listed pretty quick. His training has got a lot more expensive since he stopped the WSO, but he is still recruiting many students, so I guess it is worth it.

Not really, as best as I can tell. My technique is to try to publish articles that people are looking for. The stuff that is in the news now. I gravitate towards product or merchant oriented subjects, as that is what pays in AdSense, as best as i can tell. I am really still just feeling my way in the dark. Try something and see if it works, and then do the same the next day. Repeat what works, and quit what doesn't. I have had many $1-$2 and even a $0.67 day last week. But I have been on a roll lately. I just hope I can keep it up.

I have had CTR's of 12% and 14%, and average yesterday across all my revenue was about 8% if I remember correctly. But I don't remember for sure, and it is against GA to show that CTR as I understand it. So those are ball park numbers.

Advanced Newspaper, don't remember who makes it. I think it is $59, but I got it as part of a deal through a reseller. It is GNU licensed, so if you buy it, you can sell it. I guess I could sell it to you for $20 if you want it.

That is weird. I have two banners under the title, and one in the middle. I sometimes see them mess up, but I don't look at the articles much after I publish them, unless I am checking on something. Thanks.

Oh, so I guess you are saying I Photoshopped it? If I was that good with a graphic program, I am not sure I would waste my time, for what, to impress Warriors. I got better things to do.

BTW, this is done with a better than 7% CTR. Yesterday I had over 7K impressions, and over 500 clicks. Much less than the 25% to 30% or more CTR that some have claimed. I have reached above 14% on some articles.

I got better things to do than make up crap to impress you. obviously it wouldn't work as you don't even believe the truth. So be it, I don't really care. I don't think that is the reputation I have here anyway.

I am sorry, this is way over my head, I am not real familiar with the technical stuff of AdSense. I am funbling around as best as I can. I just happened to stumble onto something that was good, and I am rinsing and repeating as best as i can.

I think you did land a few people who complained i checked the gn forum look at this

Anothe spam news site http://thenewsportalonline.com/ - Google News Help ( though i think they are wrong in saying that as you ran a normal site, just decided that you wanted to sell it, thats not spam to me )

Something doesn't add up here though

What I don't get and maybe you can enlighten me on this is. According to betterwhois the domain for your news site was created on the 11th of june 2010 yet the flippa auction says it was established in October 2010

One month prior to the sale on flippa and by november 26th 2010 you put it on flippa to sell it off

        https://flippa.com/auctions/113970/1...-35000-Uniques

You sold it for $3,500 ( nice! ) stating in the time that you had it, it had made you a total of $750 revenue. Yet further down the page on the flippa auction you say

According to Google AdSense (Please refer to the attachment for more detail):Between Nov 1st and Nov 22nd, the website earned:
        $779 in AdSense
        $779 in adsense between November 1st and November 22nd ( 1 month )

$207.14 of which you show in a screen shot on this thread for 1 day worth?

Does this mean between the day the site was launched June 11th and november 1st , ( it had been 6 months online ) you made nothing?

And that the additional $500 amount to make it $779 or $750 ( for the month of november ) of total revenue since launching the site was made between November 1st and November 11th?

On a Side note: One thing definately to bear in mind before buying a news site is what rose said here http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post2687759

As it could very well be a case that some get sold because they lose their GN status, then what good is it ( not saying that is the case with tims ) just a heads up though for people before they rush to build a google news site.

Anyway goes to show what dedication and flipping can do. Great job

Anyway goes to show what dedication and flipping can do. Great job
I registered the domain and had writer problems, but finally hired a decent writer about the beginning of October, so that is when the site started publishing. I had it going just over a month by the time I sold it. I didn't handle the sale, a friend took care of that for me, so he may have got some of the stuff not quite correct.

I made $42.60 in October, and $1137.21 by Thanksgiving, the day I sold the site.

Yes, I had some complaints on the GN forum, yet the person that accused me of SPAM, never did poiint out any spam on my site, and only complained that I only had one writer, and I finally told her that this was not true, and that she had no proof of that, and she finally shut up. Then someone came in and said that my site looked good. There are a lot of jealous people on that forum, and if they see a site on Flippa, they usually complain about it, especially if it has AdSense on it. They seem to think that if a site has AdSense on it, then it is somehow not a real news site.

Last I heard from the lady that bought it, she was doing ok with it.

Thanks everyone for your support and congratulations.

I want to tell you that I had an offer of $3,500 for the site, and i took it. I know I could have made much more than that if I had kept it just keep adding content every day as I have been doing. But I chose to take the money and start building some more sites. I can get others approved and do this again. It is not that hard, and I know how to do it now.

I got money for Christmas now, so that is important. We probably wouldn't have had much of a Christmas without selling the site. As much as I hate letting my first GN baby go, I can build another one pretty simply.

    Some impressive numbers indeed.

You must have very high CPC keywords, especially if you say you have 3 blocks on your site. Have you experimented with having just one big block under the title ? If they are clicking lower down ( I dont know exactly what your avg time on site is aka. if people actually read what is on the site ), but if its low I would suggest testin the 1 big block method.

    Keep up the good work.

    Sincerely, Buyseech

Really happy for you - you stuck with it and finally something that works.

Time to stop giving out info, though - as you can see, you will have some people saying you can't do what you are doing - and others only interested in trying to copy you.

You finally found something to give you traction - now run with it and duplicate it and keep going.

This site was a general news site, with arts & entertainment (sports, entertainment, and stuff) lifestyle (health, and just about anything that applies to lifestyle), business news and finance, technology, and legal and identity theft.

Ads are two banners under the title, and one banner in the middle of the article.

I had one of the big blocks under the title, which I always was told was the best. But someone told me that my article was too far down the page and had to be scrolled to read the article, and looked like I was just more interested in the ads than anything. So I put the two banners, which gave me the four ads, but in less vertical space. My CTR SEEMED to increase. i didn't keep records, so it may just be my impression. But I was getting 5-6% up to better than 14% for different articles. So nothing real fantastic, but not too shabby.

My last day, the day of the sale on the site, I had over 1,500 clicks on the site. Many of them on a couple of turkey articles. Unfortunately they only paid about $014 each, but it still added up to a decent amount.

        Cheers Tim..

Do you know which ad blocks were performing best?

Was it the ad block you placed in the middle of each article? (by middle I guess you mean floated to the left just inside the first few paragraphs?).

        Did you use Wordpress?

How many articles a day are you posting?

        Lots of questions Tim

I think my best day on Adsense was about $3.50...

I gave up on adsense a while ago, right after I hit the $100 payout I took my adsense down and replaced them with affiliate ads, I make more money with those.

BUT, that is on my blog with regular readers, not search traffic. I am considering setting up a few niche sites with adsense for revenue to see how I can do now that my knowledge has risen a bit, but only time will tell..

Good job on hitting $200 in a day on adsense! That's great!

      Your kidding right?

Last time I did that I saw over a dozen copy-cat sites in my face six months later. I only give away the niche now if it's fairly good, and something I don't ever plan to compete in. You know -- like Bull Semen. HUGE clicks. BIG money, but I would giggle too much working on that niche. (sort of like I am now)

This inspires me to to back to where I left, and continue my efforts, thanks. I still have only one site with Adsense and a few articles, but that one site has given me three Adsense payments so far, next coming up soon, and a couple dollars with Amazon.com. My main problem is motivation, due to my life and health situation, but I have some amazing friends to back me up when I lose faith in what I am doing, and I had almost forgotten how many inspiring threads we find here in the WF every single day.

Adsense is almost too easy, and I am tempted to say "unfortunately". I have researched and registered a couple different domain names for building new sites, as the first site was partially based on a brand, and you know that usually is not a very good idea, so I consider it my first steps in niche site building and will move my efforts to the other sites (not too many; I am not going to spread thin).

Thanks again, I enjoyed reading this thread.

Hi Tim, well done on what you have accomplished

The main source of my income is from affiliate marketing. I did run a news site a few years back and at one time had it in Google News though i got busy with other projects and should have handed it over to someone.

You mention in your thread that you have a writer who writes every day for you 7 days a week. If your paying him bare minimum $5 an article, $15 a day. $105 a week, $420 a month. ( though most good writers charge at least $10 an article ) So double that to $840 a month in expenses

And your making $200 a day, so $6,000 - $820 that's not a bad profit but did you start with a writer from the beginning? and what are you paying roughly for a writer per news post?

I didn't have a history of income, so I could not get as much as you would normally would for a site with a history.

I had a need for cash, and had good income, and so chose to flip it quick while the income was good. I have no way of knowing if that income would contiue.

Do you advise placing adsense on your site immediately and submit it to google for inclusion in news with adsense on your site? or is that a no no. I just want to know when I can start monetizing one.

Also how long does it take from the time of submission to get it approved by google?

They say to not put AdSense on your site till you are approved. I am not sure I buy this, but I have followed it, so far.

Google works on their own schedule. I had my first site approved over the weekend. My next site took them over a month to respond to me.

I am getting a little confused here.
You made $100 then 3 days later revenue rose to $200 and probably higher later and you sold it for $3500 in just a couple of days - by my calculation at the revenue increase projection you would make more than that on a monthly basis. It just does not add up for my newbie head.

GN sites are not long term sites because articles drop from GN after time and you have to keep it up with article writing, however you can flip GN sites for profit. If you agree with all of this then it might be the way for you.

A news site depends on your current articles for income. After an article is a few days old, the traffic diminishes to next to nothing. So you have to continually publish to keep the revenue coming in. If you can't write stories that people want to read, and click on the ads, then your revenue will not be there. You can't depend on it. All you can do is expect that you know what you are doing and keep working on getting articles published. If you manage to hit a few good stories, then the revenue will be up, and that is what was happening to me. I thought it should last till Christmas, but wasn't sure it would continue past Christmas.

I had a need for quick cash, and had a chance to sell the site, so I did. If I had not had the need for cash, I would have kept it. But I got what I wanted out of it. Now I have to repeat the process a few times. It was fun, and I want to do it over and over.

Hey Tim - Was your site de-listed from GN? I'm a fellow newsie and had two of my outlets kicked out over their low quality. (Oh yes, they were awful to look at but they were cranking out money.) I ask because I haven't heard much from you regarding your properties on GN.

Obviously I have no inside information but it seemed like the GN team did an audit to "weed out" any E. Brian Rose lookalikes.
