Google Hotpot, woah, local SEO on the grow.

This is making local reviews so intuitive.
Hotpot coupled with the new places interface means that the local SEO game is changing rapidly.
A whole bunch of peer reviews from different IP addresses seem to really give a result in Google places a lot of credit.
I would suspect that using the same accounts to continuously review the same places would be detrimental, even if using something like the TOR network to rotate IP's. This is purely speculative.
This seems like a quick and easy way to boost your local ranking, if you're the kind of SEO that provides services to (mostly) local businesses, like me.
Anyone else got any tips or opinions based on these new and modified tools?
Oh, and if anyone could answer this question, I'd be in their debt:
How many ratings does it take for your places' rating to appear in search results?
I THINK it's ten.. but I'm not sure.
If you were disappointed in your results today, lower your standards tomorrow.
