Demographics of Ad Clickers

I am curious if there are studies, or if anyone can share their experience on how different demographics of people click, or don't click on ads. For example, I recently targeted some people in their early 20's from Arizona that sent a spike of traffic to one of my blogs; however, I got no adsense clicks from it.

Could it be that younger people are desensitized to web ads so they don't click, verses middle aged or senior visitor that may be more likely to click or buy? Do different states or countries yield different results as well?

It may sound like a silly question, but was your content and the subsequent ads served by adsense also targeted to the same demographic? It depends on numbers but if the answer to both of the above was yes then you should have received a response of some order.

Its not necessarily younger people but people who are internet savvy or spend more time browsing online are pretty much blind to ads unless you blend them really well, they basically subconsciously tune them out.
