Here is my site for your review, would love some constructive criticism (be as harsh as possible)... Repair My Relationship

OK I am really new to this stuff, so I have been working diligently on getting traffic to my site. Not getting a boat load as of yet, but I have done the following:

Tried my best to optimize long tail keywords
Posted to a bunch of blogs
Written Articles (used Article Post Robot, which I love)
Posted to Social Bookmarks as well

The Good News:

There are some long tail keywords that if searched in Yahoo, I am in the top 3 (one of them I am the top one)

The Problem:

Still not getting a lot of traffic to my site
And when people do come in, they barely click the affiliate links
And if they do, I never get a sale (I have one sale in the last month)

Anyway, any advice on getting more people on my site? and what I could do to get more affiliate clicks would be appreciated....

    You asked for this!

    Domain with dash = BAD

NOT cloaking your clickbank links = BAD. Resulting in fewer clicks, cause people know they are just an affiliate link.

I am in the top 3 (one of them I am the top one)

Still not getting a lot of traffic to my site
Did you researched how many people looking for that long tail keywords of yours? It doesn't matter if you are in the first position, if no one searching your keywords then no one will visit your site.

The last one, get a better design mate!

good answers. I need a kick in the you know what....This is all part of the learning experience. I have heard different thoughts on hyphenated pages. But I will look to change that. Also, can you explain cloaking a little bit more?

I would recommend hiring a designer before you proceed any further. With the right design you can double your sales. With a bad design, you will struggle to make any sales no matter how much traffic you get.

If you have an Aweber account then you should definitely have an opt-in page so that you can build your list. If you do not have an Aweber account then you should get on so that you CAN start building your list.

Put an opt-in form and offer a freebie for visitors to subscribe so that you do not lose the visitors who do not make an immediate purchase from your site.

    Good luck.

Forget about getting a designer, bla bla bla. What you need to do is use a wordpress theme blog and get yourself going that way. Also, get the SEO plugin for wordpress

Get a color scheme going, you're all over the place with colors...your adsense ads dont match any of the website, just out there not doing anything, not a good place where you'll convert. This may also help you where to decide to place your ads as Google has a heat map of best converting ads: Where Should I Place Google Ads On My Pages? | PalatnikFactor.com

you need to start making changes little by little, deff a good niche though.

I can help you with the cloaking. You need to find out what type of server you are hosting your site on. Just call the hosting company and ask if it is a Linux or a Microsoft server and let me know. Then I can give you the scripts to cloak your links.

You can cloak your links by using the .htaccess file and doing a 301 redirect

here is an example of the code to add to the .htaccess file

          redirect 301 /whateveryouwanttocallyourlink hxxp://YourAffiliateUrl

(insert tt where xx is I cant post links yet)

in your web page your link will be "/whateveryouwanttocallyourlink" instead of your current affiliate link

          I hope that makes sense

as its more related to the relationship of love so try to make your website look more pinkish instead of this bad color used. the other important thing that these are long tailed keywords but these are keyphrases.......you have inserted so many of them in your home page that they are useless....there is no limit to insert them but the best is to insert 200 characters in keywords......

As you are using organic opt thus dont use any automated software(the worst thing acc to a SE)......dont most of your work manually....

Congrats! as you are ranking no 3 in yahoo but for your knwledge not more than 5% traffic generated from search engines comes in from yahoo and even when the keywords you are searching for not highly competetive thus nothing useful you are doing........

Start by adding your targeted keywords to the title tag.

My advice to you mate... is to learn abit about direct response marketing...
It was primarily used offline, but now very widely used online!
What people refer to as "Internet Marketing" these days I suppose

But... only very few ppl know how to pull it off effectively.
You'll want to study a bit about copywriting aswell... knowing to to write
powerfully persuasive copy, will help you 'sky-rocket' your conversions!

You need to conduct market research & discover what's currently working for others in your niche... in this case (relationships). What sites seem to be constantly ranked in the top 3 results in google & which ads do you see that keep appearing for key words when typed in google for your niche.

View their landing pages or sites & see what they're doing that you aren't!
The most important aspect of any site is a killer headline!
Why have I clicked to visit your site? ...what will you promise me? ...what's the main benefit for me to stay here or bother ever coming back?

Don't distract visitors away once on your site... adsense ads are a big 'no no'. You have to begin with the end in mind. What is your 'ultimate goal' here? Is it to get adsense clicks on your ads ...or to sell the products
    you've set out to promote?

    You ideally can't have both...

And be wary of some of the advice ppl give you on the forums...
Although, there are many ppl here that are just trying to be helpful... there are also other's that like to share their 'personal opinions' that may cripple any chance of you succeeding.

    All the best,

    -Shaun

P.S. - Stay focused on certain areas & keep on learning... & you will eventually succeed!

oh, I also forgot to add...

If you have an email opt in on your site... ensure that it's 'double opt-in'
...meaning people actually have to verify from their inbox that they were the one's who actually signed up to your service. Otherwise you'll have spam complaints that'll drive you insane!

      Name
      Email

& bribe them with something that would benefit them & compliments the product/s you're selling.

I heard Hypens are ok if you just don't use a lot of them. One or 2 is the norm. I am curious about this though. I think Google looks at some with a lot as spam and possibly related it to Adsense scams.

    Scott -

    Apparently you haven't yet learned
the secret of "The One Thing". :-)

    It's critical to direct response
    marketing and that's what works
    online.

There are too many options on the
page for anyone to make a choice.

The design is nice (I'm using that
theme on a site of my own), but
the intention of using that theme
is different than what you're trying
    to accomplish.

For me, the site using that theme
is for people who've already opted
into a list and *then* I'm offer them
all that content - not before.

    Define, specifically, the one action
you want people to take - optin,
click *a* link or banner, etc. Then
    construct your page/site to accomplish
    that goal.

You will see a lot of people building
sites like you're building around here -
they're a lot of work and the least
    likely to make any money.
