SEO or search engine optimization has been a great help to webmasters and entrepreneurs worldwide. However, due to it’s vast and broad concept not a lot of people have been successful in dominating Google and other search engines.

To give you a good and clear example of proven methods on generating positive results when it comes to SEO, you must stick to the written words. Simply put, it is all in the words!

These days there are a lot of blogs and articles online, they come in thousands and who knows, even millions. Why are there so many articles and blogs online? The truth of the matter is, these are great sources of traffic to a website and plus they can serve as tools for SEO purposes.

Blogging

Most often, people do this as a hobby or simply for a source of stress relieve or to find solitude. But for affiliate marketers, SEO experts and web masters, it is more than writing words. It’s money! To the tune of thousands of dollars monthly.

What’s with blogging? Well, one fact is that search engines love them, especially Google. The search engine spider will crawl blogs and if a link to a website is there and it’s related to the content of the entire blog, it’s an added bonus for you. Most blogging software has built in tools that allow you to optimize your article for SEO. Using keywords related to your articles and blog posts is very important for indexing in search engines. This allows the search engines to relate to your topic and determine where to put you in the rankings.

Article Writing

Articles can be submitted to directories like Ezine or Goarticles. Say for example Ezine, they have this resource box at the bottom where the author can put in a link to a website and write a short bio about themselves or the site. This will give traffic to a certain website and can be a great tool for SEO aswell. Only if the article is written with the use of a keyword and also, if the article is readable to the human eyes. Article writing with SEO style is what it is called really. Websites like Ezine are very popular and have good rankings in search engines so when Google or other search engines see your link in an article on Ezine it raises attention to your site and gives it a little higher ranking. It’s kinda like a domino effect.

Please feel free to chime in and add to what I have written. I'm sure there are more good reasons why blogging and article writing can benefit your site.

    Hi Jeremy,

(Firstly, thanks for the "infraction" the other day. Haha, just kidding - no worries! )

Some good points, but there's another huge SEO bonus to be had from article marketing, that isn't limited to the backlinks you get from the directories themselves - and that's article syndication beyond directories.

If your articles are good, webmasters of relevant (or at least semi-relevant), high-quality authority sites will republish your articles, giving you (potentially) even better additional backlinks than what you get from the article directories themselves. Not to mention referral traffic.

This, arguably (and according to a lot of professional article marketers), is where article marketing comes into its own, in terms of SEO-power, and of course in terms of your bottom line. And I tend to agree with them.

Ah yes, I couldn't message you back because of the whole post count thing. I was totally playing with the system and was not aware I could even do that. I proceeded not thinking it would work! Just me pushing big red buttons saying "oooo I wonder what this will do!" Reading sticky topics helps!

      Sorry about that =)

Thanks for the added comments about the OP. I agree %100 and that is a fantastic point to bring up. If they do link back to you or give you some kind of credit, that is always a plus but this day in age it seems to be more of a "spin up and repost as their own" type of thing. It seems site owners want that "we wrote this article" feeling to be portrayed on their readers so they don't think the site is just another dripper.

      Thanks

I have some questions on articles. If we submit articles to these article directories, do we write them based on our keyword we are working for? Say, the keyword is polka dot plastic , do we have to write about that? And for some micro niches sites that have that 2900 searches per month with low to medium competition, how many articles roughly to produce? Do we have to send them to many many article directories? What would you do? Some enlightenment would be appreciated

Yes, you want to use keywords relating to your niche and link back to your site. As for how many, I would do as many as you can, atleast 5 but more is always better.

Well Ezine take 7 days or more to approve one article so at-least 5 a month or five every couple of weeks. Hope this helps.
