I'm not sure I understand what this is and I have read the short blurb on Adsense about it. I've been doing Adsense on my site for two full days. The first day the eCPM was about $15. Today it is $40. Could someone tell me what this is and why the big difference?

Thanks,
Barry

From a publisher's perspective, the effective cost-per-thousand impressions (eCPM) is a useful way to compare revenue across different channels and advertising programmes.

It is calculated by dividing total earnings by the number of impressions in thousands. For example, if a publisher earned $180 from 45,000 impressions, the eCPM would equal $180/45 or $4.00.

However, please keep in mind that eCPM is a reporting feature that does not represent the actual amount paid to a publisher.

well e-cpm means effective cost per impression..........it is the way that you can calculate your CPM........i.e if you get 45,000 visitors and your CPM is 100$ then effective CPM is calculated on basis of per 1000 impressions...

it will be calculated as 100/45000*1000 which will be equal to US $ 2.20.

This clever little spambot has changed its MO slightly. It was using a handfull of periods between each text snippet, now it is varing the number of periods between text snippets and in one case I saw that it used commas instead of periods.

Is anyone else following the exploits of this spambot?
