How would you spend $500?

I have an established website with a strong linking profile. I'd like to throw some money at it for some off site SEO.

If you were gonna spend $500 on a site like this, what would you spend it on? :confused:

    I'd spend every last cent on... (check my sig...!)

    On a serious note, so you got a strong linking profile, but I take it you don't rank well?

    For that money, you could probably hire a VA for 6-8 weeks and have them write and submit a few hundred articles, bookmark EVERYTHING, manually create forum profiles, build link wheels, .... and so on, and so on...thay can get a lot done you know!

      I think link wheels could be really good. I've just started making them myself but I am looking to outsource them most probably.

    First I would make sure your on page SEO rocks. Then I would create 2-3 new pieces of content and use them on your website. Then distribute them to several article directories via AMR and then place them on 10-50 Web 2.0 websites. Then use BMD to bookmark all of those articles to help get them indexed. Then I would hire someone for $10 to do a 2000-10000 Xrumer blast to all of the new articles and web 2.0 sites. Then I would hire someone with Scrapebox to run 2000-10000 Scrapebox blast.

      On a serious note, so you got a strong linking profile, but I take it you don't rank well?
      I am ranking well overall. Most of my important keywords im top 5. But I want to take it over the top and dominate across the board.

        In that case you probably don't need to invest $500 in something you don't know of or something new.

        If what you're doing is working, why not just continue doing what you're doing, just more of it. Ramp it up and invest your money there.

    The question is do you rank well for your main keywords, if not then you need to increase your reach on the interested visitors.

    Don't fall into the page rank increasing BS that seems to plague people...

    Save your $500 (penny saved is a penny earned) and start doing some real marketing for it by approaching the bigger site in your niche and offering up articles for them (with links of course).

    I'd like to suggest a couple of "out of the box" suggestions:

    Could you spend the money on YOU that would fairly directly improve your site as a result? As YOU are your biggest asset. You should improve it first For me I've been thinking about buying a couple of extra monitors as I know that would improve my productivity, or perhaps a faster internet plan for at home. Maybe in your case it might be buying a few books, or taking a course at Uni.

    Idea #2: does you site have a community? If so that is probably one of the most important features of your site. Why not spend the $500 there, you're likely to get surprising rewards! One idea is buying relevant prizes and holding a competition for your members. Another idea is if your site is local to a particular area is spending the $500 on a throwing an event for all the members to go to.
