301 redirection (link juice or no link juice...that is the question)
- SEO |
Silly question but one that I've never directly had to answer so here goes:
I recently lost faith in a .co domain i'd be SEOing the heck out of (we're talking 3,000 + high PR backlinks over the course of a 4 month period).
I bought a hyphenated .com and setup a simple 301 redirection from the .co to the hyphenated .com - then transferred the content & design etc. over.
My question is this.
Will the 'link juice' into the .co get transferred down the line to the .com?
Also, is there a 'standard' way of creating the 301 redirect to guarantee the answer to the above question is YES?
I am a bit concerned because Yahoo site explorer is showing less than 10 backlinks to the .com but more than 1,000 to the .co - even though I transferred the domain over about 3 weeks ago.
Cheers,
Martin
