I'm trying to comment (not spam) using my permalink (inside Wordpress blog page) url as the Website URL when asked to in the comment box. It never goes through. Is this normal. When I write a comment and use the homepage URL, the comment goes through.

Is this normal? Or am I doing something wrong? Is it because the url is too long?

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I think you need to have 15 posts to have a link in your post.

No, it's not normal. Are your comments being held for moderation? Or do you just get an error message?

No, It is not normal. I think you did excessive link building. You need speed down your comments and take a rest for some days. After some days you need to do blog comments with new ID.

It's not because I did too much link building, because I just tried doing it with a different url (permalink) and it still does not post. I don't get a "moderation" message; the page just reloads and I don't see my comment at all.

When I comment using the home page as my website url, the comment submits normally.

If you have the few minutes and want to do me a favor, then leave a blog comment on any blog that you want to, (can be your own) and use this url (not the real one I want to rank, but an inside blog page - permalink, with a dash after the blog name, and one that I could not comment with)

Just go to : twinmattressguide dot com and copy the url from any inside page.

Sorry, but I can't post links yet.

I really appreciate your comments. Thanks y'all.

If the link is not canonical and has a ?= in it, it sounds as
if it is being flagged as spam. Or if it has any other characters,
like %, &, etc. the script is rejecting it.

You want to build the vast majority of links to the main page anyway.

Thanks, Paul. I thought this might be the problem. But, when I change the permalink structure, not to show ?=, etc. only to show dashes, it still rejects it.

I would assume it's because they detect it as spam. Agree, everyone?

I think you problem is it. When you comment of a wordpress blog, after submitting it, you go to a blank page with this address: site.com/wp-comment.php
If its your problem, its totally normal and it relates to wordpress script. And be sure that your comment has been submitted but approving it depends on the webmaster of that blog.

Thanks. But I don't get a white screen. I get the same page that I left the comment on, except the comment is not there.

I think that it's because somehow Akismet detects it as spam, because I could submit a comment with a permalink url as the Website in my own WP blog, with Akismet not activated.

        Any ideas, anyone?

It's definitely Akismet. I just tested it on my blog and the deep link ended up in the spam folder while the home page URL was approved. I wonder if that's a new thing? I've never had that problem before.

Thanks Cindy, for checking it out.

I've just started commenting on blogs with a deep link, so I've no idea if it was possible before.
