Domain too long for Adwords Ad

I found out that my longtail domain is too long for the display url in my adwords ad and google apparently wants an exact match of display url and landing page url as I've tried every possible abbreviation but they won't accept it. Is it possible to do a redirect from another domain or is there another solution that would be simpler and not cost anything? Thanks.

Hi PaulintheSticks,

In the past I was able to enter the first 35 characters of the root domain and it accepted it. I'm not sure if that still works, but couldn't hurt to try it.

Otherwise, try an exception request and see if they can make an exception for you:

Would they let you use your domain through goo.gl? Or do they frown on URL shorteners, even if it is their own?

  You probably already tried this, but you can leave off the www. in front. That will give you an extra 4 characters.
