Adsense Ads - Not relevant & related to recent search queries I made!!

OK, this is weird. Adsense ads are showing on a new site of mine, but the ads are not at all relevant to the highly focused and keyword full content of the site.

I understand this could be a function of recent Google searches I have done on my local computer, but here's the weird thing: When I view the site using a third party service like Total Validator dot com the screen shot that it shows me *also* shows ads that are not relevant --- but also are clearly related to recent Google searches I have made.

Very weird. Has anyone seen this?

Even more strange is that when I create a new page, with fresh content, the first display of the page shows highly relevant Adsense ads --- spot on. After two or three page views the ads turn into non-relevant ads and, after a few more page loads, sometimes PSA ads take their place. So I know based on the first page load that Google sees the content correctly.

Note: The site is new, just made live earlier today. Can this be part of the issue I am having?

Yes Turning off that feature increases your click rate many times
The ads being shown also depend on the IP address of the visitor.
If the site was created today, then Google will take time to decide about traffic and what kinds of ads should be shown on your site.

Well put gtk... didn't think about that. Yeah, if you slap AdSense on a BRAND NEW site that's not even indexed (or newly indexed), it may take G a day or two or more to straighten the displaying Ads out. Make sure you have Analytics and/or Webmaster tools... It can help speed along the process sometimes... The Gbots have to crawl your page to figure out what it's all about!

Sometimes adding AdSense to brand new sites speeds up the indexing/crawling process.

The Google bot visited my site earlier today and the sitemap.xml was validated. However, Adsense still does not show proper contextual ads, especially on the home page.

If I force the home page to "refresh" by submitting a parameter to the end of the home page URLsuch as /?x=123 then the Adsense ads all display and are contextual. However, just trying to load the root URL falls back on empty ad slots as well as contextually out of place ads. It's like Google is saying: We've seen that page before (probably during initial set up of the site) and it had no content or poor content, so we are using what we remember the page *used to have* as opposed to the content that is currently on the page.

Does this make sense? Has anyone else seen this issue?

In my opinion the most probable reason for showing irrelevant adsense ads is template of your website. Have you tried changing and testing it? I suggest you to do this. I am not saying about changing the colors of your website, i say change template of it and the codes of it.

      Are they PSA's?

By default when you create a new ad unit it gets displayed as a PSA until
google knows what your site is about.
