Hi I wanted to know if it was possible to translate content from another language and use it as original content.

250 words or so of translated content like mainstream news in french or german.

is this possible to rank for or is it google proofed?

    Yes, you can do it but i think Google has been decided to detect these contents but i think they still can't find them and you can do this.
