Any specific reason to use SEO?

I am against advertisement and marketing because these factors pull the customers to your site in an indirect way. I want to pull my target audience directly through my quality products and services. So, when I saw that every webmaster is availing of the SEO services to promote their site, I was wondering what's the need! Can anyone please clear my doubt? Why SEO is needed? Can't a website do without using SEO techniques? It would be great to know your point of view on the importance of search engine optimization. Any comments are welcome. Have a great day ahead.

    Depends.

    If you do PPC, then no not needed.
    If you don't this remark is wrong "Can’t a website do without using SEO techniques".

    How well will your site do when you are in spot #1,000?

    Regarding your question, you might have the best product ever, only it won't go all that far without a proper marketing and advertisement campaign. Without that it will fall into complete obscurity.

    Ok, seriously, regarding your question now. SEO is needed in order to succeed (read, be found) in the mostly vile, search engine dominated, internet marketing world.
