My 1 Week Old Site Is No. 5 On Google For My Keywords..

I've had this happen 2ce in the past few weeks...

I put up my sites and they instantly start to compete with sites for certain obvious keywords within a matter of just days on google... now is that normal or am I really lucky... I don't really do much SEO and I never paid attention to it before one of my employees pointed out that we were ranking no. 1 for a very specific keyword match. I figured it was because I used those words over 20 times on my sales page in very relevant ways by the way, no black hat etc, I just found ways to make my keywords fit right into my copy over 20 times and we ranked no. 1 on google within a week or less.

Now, in just 7 days exactly, my second site is ranking No. 5 for what I would say is a pretty competitive keyword match for the niche in question at least, I'm still researching more on this... but I feel very motivated to see this.

I intend to push the envelope on this, if organic traffic can be generated easily using the methods I discover and apply I'm going to be a very happy new camper in the SEO camp (just to be clear I hate the very thought of SEO so for me to be considering this is a giant step for a rapidly aging "wannabe SEO expert" like me

Anyway, I'm no expert, and doubt I'll ever be, but I was just so excited I had to share this with someone outside my office who knows what the heck I'm on about and also to encourage those like me who never really tried this before.

I'm going to be taking a deep look into some very competitive keywords now and see if I can't stumble my way to no. 1 - no. 10 on google, msn etc with just a few old marketing strategies slipped into my copywriting etc...

If that fails woefully, I shall be happy to spend a few bob learning SEO from the best out there, frankly if I can stumble this far on my own, I can't wait to hear what a guaranteed strategy will do for my businesses.

Anyways, I'll keep y'all posted.

Many Cheers,

Kunle Olomofe

PS: I'm not even going to think what it will feel like when my sites start ranking for the really tough keyword matches AND we start pulling organic traffic that converts to sales easily... that will be a time worth celebrating!

So are you saying that the only obvious SEO strategy you have used is to have a high keyword density?

      Hi Abul-Hussain,

That's what it looks like from all indications.

We normally do ZERO SEO for our sites, sometimes we don't even add keywords to the whatchamacallit... wait let me check... seriously, I have to check.. LOL... Oh yeah, the "Meta Tags" of 99% of my sites from years back to date...

I'm just lazy about that stuff, I prefer direct marketing and advertising, stuff I can control virtually 100% of the time, but now I'm considering SEO since search engines ARE now among my own no. 1 way of finding other people's sites... I figure, now that I HAVE a way to compete (without really trying), why not compete full throttle, everyone else is, and it may not be as hard as I thought for years now... We'll see...

So far, we're not ranking even in the top 20 pages for certain very popular keyword matches in those niches and these are some of those keywords I did bother (last minute) to add to the site now ranking no. 5 for a key word match that's not even in the meta tags (but is high in density on the page itself).. weird stuff? I don't know much if anything about SEO so you tell me .... LOL.. though that's all about to change pronto..

      Hi lassitermarketing,

Yes the 2 sites are in the same niche but they actually compliment each other rather than compete one is service-based, the other is a self-service option, they will eventually both link to each other.

I should probably get to doing that sooner than later with the first site ranking no. 1 for certain keywords and the other site ranking no. 5 for certain of its own keywords, maybe they will both help each other organically in some way?

      I shall soon know

      Cheers,

      Kunle Olomofe

PS: thanks all, for the kudos!

do you have access to a tool like SEO elitel. It will tell you the quality of ALL the links of your competeters. Usually it is the quality of your links that gets you good ranking with the SE's. Keyword density won't do it alone.

that's really good for you.........it might be the case that you realy have some good link from your competitor websites or you might check away for your keywords........how can you tell that they are competetive have you checked them through any of them softwares or through google???????

or are you using PPC i.e adwords from google??////

Good for you, Kunle. Are the two sites you put up competing against each other or in different niches?
