Surprises with SERP

There are a few aspects of SEO that don't work the way I would have expected.

1. NOFOLLOW tags DO have an impact. When I transfered my domain and blog, the only articles that would rank in Google were those having a nofollow link from a high PR website. (now my ranking is back to normal)

2. I have a domain with Forward and Mask pointing to a page having a canonical URL specified. I wouldn't expect that domain to rank, but... it's ranking #5 for: attraction and intimacy

attractionandintimacy.com

I would rather have the "real" page rank, but I won't complain.

It's just surprising.

      EMD stands for exact match domain. It means that the domain name is an exact match to to keyword in question. EMD-type domains have aslight advantage for those specific terms.
