So... Google just canceled my unused, brand new adwords account without explination

I just bought my first domain and hosting from GoDaddy 11 days ago. With my purchase came a $100 adwords credit. I set it up and designed a campaign.

My ads never ran, and the diagnostic tool and every other explanation I could find suggested that my ads should have been running, but for some unknown reason they weren't.

2 days ago I sent Google Adwords an inquiry to find out why my campaign wasn't running. Of course they did not respond, but this morning I logged into my adwords account to find it canceled. I didn't even get an email from them.

Anyone else had an experience like this?

All I can say is, that's Google!

They do what they want, when they want with no warning, no explanation, and no way to contact them.

The thing that puzzles me about Google is they're "biting the hand that feeds them".

Sorry to hear about this, Evan. I have never heard of this happening with an unused Adwords account either, and it is quite frankly puzzling. Were you doing any kind of direct linking in the campaign that you attempted to run? Where were you driving the traffic to?

You obviously don't spend much time in this forum.

Hardly. You, me, the next guy on this forum, we're all pocket change to Google. They don't want all the hassles and costs associated with affiliate marketers and the like who submit low budget campaigns, cancel them, submit another, and so on.

It's not worth their time. Their time is much better spent massaging the backs of those that account for the majority of their advertising income.

They are much better off using all their traffic to supply the big brand advertisers - and they know they have more than enough demand to allow them to be picky. They will look for any excuse they can to get rid of a small budget advertiser - we've seen it happen over and over again.

This is no surprise to me.

I ran a short campaign off a $100 adwords credit as well. I also took them up on their offer of setting up my campaign for me, and actually spoke to a human, who showed me how to set up a campaign and how to check to see the ads were running. I then was able to email him and call him, which I did not need to do. I took down all ads when I used up the $100. I did not find any evidence of the adwords campaign increasing my sales.

If you get another one of those $100 offers, do go ahead and see if it also comes with that extra service. It is very unfortunate that happened to you. I understand about Google not being communicative. It took me three weeks to get through to a person to get the coupon activated and get connected to the Adwords team. I got disconnected, hung up on, sent to voice mail messages that never got returned, you name it, it happened. I was just about to give up in week three of trying to use that extra service. In all, it was a frustrating experience that I will not repeat.

You say it's unused, but then you say your ad's never ran.
    Did you start a campaign?
What were you trying to advertise?

I hope you will figure out what happened.

Goodluck with your account retrieval. I was close to being unbanned not long ago but like the guy above said Google does what it wants when it wants O_O

Goodluck I hope you can recover your account.

Do you have a red bar similar to this at the top of your account?
