i was just wonder if i were to take content from another site and spin it to 80% uniqueness would google catch this, reason i ask is because building a large site would take a lot of money as far as buying content so i thought hey what if i spin content from wikipedia, a large site could be build in a matter of couple weeks if such a thing is possible, although i must admit from a moral stand point i don't think i would do such a thing because i wouldn't want someone stealing my content, but just wondering is it possible.

    NO I WOULDNT DO THAT!

I would use PLR article you can do what ever you want with them. I could give you a link but I'm new here. And free for now. I would just type in PLR Article And spin them in your own word works great.

I sometimes use Word Flood. You can get it free. Its not as fast but, i can use my own words better than with some of the other ones out there, Also they have content you can use and change as-well. Hope this helps a little.

Agreed, this is a very bad idea. Not only is it rude to the original writer (and sometimes illegal, depending on the copyrights on the work written), but it will not give you a good reputation, and thus eventually you won't make as much money.
Go with your own unique material or at least pay for material.

What you propose to to do, is what a lot of us do.

It's called doing a little research.

Do you really think you need to reinvent the wheel, or have something
earth shattering to say about, let's say, student loans? That hasn't
been said before? In some way or another?

You get some ideas, spin it, add your flavor.

How many blogs do you think there are that just re-do google's official blogs?
Okay, many add a link, but many don't. Many SEO gurus do nothing but spin
      others stuff.

In fact, here's how silly I get. I take an article I've written from spun content,
then spin it again for a blog post. And when I'm short on ideas, I'll spin it thrice.
