      I do something similar to the guest blogging. I approach people in forums and offer to write and publish articles for them, in exchange for contextual dofollow links form the domains they own.

      It goes very slowly, because people are usually busy and slow to respond, but with patience I had lots of success with this approach. They get an article, I get a non-spammy link from a descent site.

    Its not difficult. You should get backlinks from websites which are ranking high. Some article directories, social bookmarking sites,forums and blogs are good sources for making quality backlinks.

    If you're looking for backlinks there was two articles within the forum under this section about a week ago. They were titled
    1) 5000 quality backlink sites, you followed a link and there was a list of 5000 websites to go to for backlinks.
    2) Another post in the forum - Get your site to number 1 spot on Google. Again had some great information on how to get good quality backlinks.

    Traditionally though as everyone else is saying , blogs, article submission, comments on other blogs also works well.

    For me backlinking is one of the most tiring parts of internet marketing..

        All of the above work well if done strategically. All links are not created equal! You want High Quality Authority Links. If you can not find high quality authority links... manufacture them.
        Simple strategy
        Create a link wheel (hub and spoke method) using Authority web2.0 sites
        Link these sites to your money site
        Build Backlinks to your money site
        Focus on building backlinks to your Authority sites which will rank higher faster and past the link juice to your money site.
        I have youtube videos and some Web 2.0 properties ranking as high as PR 6 simply from using this strategy.
        It's all about understanding how the system works and implementing it in a way that isn't spammy and looks natural.
        That is the basics.

        Then make sure to track your rankings.

        It can get quite tricky and much more in depth but those are the basics. Also don't forget social bookmarking too. And using tribes to assist you.

    You get quality links by providing quality content. Those that see the content you provide is quality, will automatically link to you, naturally.. By far one of the best possible ways to get a quality link.

    Article Marketing and Press Release submissions are key to quality link building. Google loves Quality Content and Backlinks - you get both in one.

    Blog Commenting is rather quite nice too, but don't just post anything to get a backlink... SPAM sux!

    Quality, Variety and Consistency is Key! - when building links. These 3 things will get you exactly where you want to be with your website and also allow your website to build authority and gain organic search traffic before you know it..
