Here's what i understand to cut to the chase.

The reason we spin our articles is so that each article that has been submitted on different sites, is seen by google as an entirely new article. in essence, 1 articles if spun properly turns into 60+ articles.

we then get indexed and link juice from each and every article.

On the other hand, if we spin a article half way (only synonyms for words) or dont spin at all, Google will index your site, but will only give you credit for the first article it indexed, the rest will bee seen as duplicate content.

Not that you will get a penalty, they are still indexed, but the link juice isnt there.

Are my views incorrect? am i on the right track?

The reason i ask, is because we obviosly want good results with each spin, and i want to outsource the work for doing proper spinning (re writing each sentance + synonyms) and im not 100% sure if its a good investment.

Anybody got 2c to spare??

    Hi Suka,

I don't think that syndicated content is completely devalued by Google even though it is a duplicate. They just apply filtering at the SERP level and to a lesser degree they may limit how many pages that they crawl with the exact same content. (no point in indexing yet another million copies of the same document). I'm pretty sure that the link juice is still there if all guidelines are followed.

The main value I see in spinning is that it gives you an opportunity to present the same message using a different style that may work better for a different segment of your audience (i.e. third person perspective rather than first person). Spinning content is not bad when you do it in a way that may add value. A badly written article is a badly written article, regardless of whether it was spun or not. Conversely, a well written article is a well written article regardless of whether it was spun or not.

I believe if you approach spinning articles in this way you have nothing to worry about.

Is this spinning articles is effective for quality content. Is it advisable?

My understanding is that there are two reasons to spin an article:
      1. You want the article itself to get ranked on Google. It has a better chance if it's unique. You can submit the article to EZA, then a spun copy to BuzzArticles, etc And each one has an opportunity to rank. Why get articles to rank? Because they can get read and send you traffic.

      2. You want to hide a footprint. You have 20 blogs all pointing to the same money site. You've put the blogs on different IPs so you get good link juice. You don't want Google to see they're all yours. So you spin your articles before you post them across your network. Google doesn't see them as identical. And it keeps your blog network from getting deindexed.

On the flip side, if what you want from your articles is backlinks, you don't need to spin. For example, you can take one article and post it on lots of article directories and get multiple links from each one. It's just that the articles themselves will likely not rank well.

I know some people only spin the Titles and Resource boxes.

    The content remains same.

Personally, I've tried it and it works to get "many backlinks".
    (but not any longer)

But do you think Google likes you making the Internet more "cluttered"?

    It's kinda spammy anyways.

Imo, spun contents are kinda spammy too.

But if they don't get detected, then they are not classified as spammy, if you know what I mean.

It's your choice. The risk is yours to take. Who knows? Only Google does.

Spinning is kinda grey hat anyways imo.

How does google tell the difference in meaning and why using synonims is not enough. Does Google chek the structure of the sentences?
