So my journey to SEO land has brought me to trying to get .edu and .gov links. I have searched google and found 13 different forums with .edu extensions to create public profiles in.

A thread I read here at WF just said to wait and google will come... Well it has been a month and the only edu link I have showing to my site is one of the 5 I purchased last week from someone on odesk

I have created a RSS feed with all the different profile pages using icerocket and tried to place a link to the RSS page places where google would crawl it and find my links. (on my site and in my sig box on this forum) But nothing has worked!

If someone could please help me out I would greatly appreciate it!

The best way to get profile links indexed is to create posts in already indexed busy forum topics. These will create links (your username) that point back to your profile page.

If you want to go the extra mile, you could also backlink the profile pages and posts from web 2.0 sites.

You should easily get them indexed within a few days.

Just remember though, sometime Google won't index pages it doesn't need. Often you will see the Googlebot crawl the page but not bother to index it. :p

I have a similar question. I have been able to secure webspace from my university. I can create any number of HTML pages and do pretty much whatever.

I am testing with this page http://www.ohio.edu/people/mb170301/links.htm

I haven't seen any of these links indexed. I have tweeted this page, linked to it other places and see it when i search for it in google. However, none of the links show up in YSE or Market Samurai when I check.

    Thoughts?
