forum posts as backlinking not working anymore

is anyone trying forum posting as backlinks, ive tried it on a number of forums and the links are not appearing for my site under yahoos site explorer for backlinks.

    Forum links still work and may be you are posting on only one site whose links are not being indexed Google/Yahoo and that's why your backlinks not visible.

    You need to choose the right forums, not every forum is "do follow".I also think that Google does not show every backlink you have.Yahoo site explorer gives you a realistic view of all the links coming to your site.

    well one forum is a PR5 forum while the threads what i post on at most probably 0 like any other thread out there. Dnt think there is an index problem

    Forum Posting works if you post on relative and do follow forums. Links from some forums will not appear in Yahoo site explorer.

    Forum posting works fine. But find High PR forums and use signature. Don't decide it with few results. I saw a similar complain few days ago

      Many forum owners delete them though. I know because I write software that hunts down forums that keep profiles.

      What I do is find a user name, search google, then see which forums retains that member.

      Also, some forums will put your screenname, email and IP in a registry if they think you are spam. Not that it matters but there is a service that forum owners can cross check those parameters.

    Just like what the others said, all backlinks to your site are not shown by the Yahoo and Big G search engines. Don't worry about getting your links indexed, just continue building backlinks, whether they're dofollow or not..

    As some other members said, you should note that all pages of every forums are not get indexed by search engines specially Yahoo. So its clear that when a page is not indexed you don't see it as a backlinks when you check your backlinks using Yahoo explorer. Also as you know Yahoo explorer only shows 1,000 backlinks of every website.
