How Do People Find Backlinks (i.e. like the ones in backlink packets)

Hey Everyone,

This might seem like a dumb question but how do people find the high PR backlinks that everyone loads into all these backlink packets?

Is it some kind of search query in Google or a tool that finds them? I understand people have secret methods but what's the general idea here...

Thanks in Advance,

Brad

The general idea is to search for a particular search string that is associated with particular content management systems. Then sort the results by PR.

Something like "Powered by ExpressionEngine" just now that brought me back a list of 4 million or so results in quotes.

I think you can install a FF plugin to see the pr's of these forums.

That is the general idea, anyway.

At least one person bothered to actually answer your question.

The term your looking for is 'footprints', just about everything leaves a footprint and once you know what you are looking for it's a pretty easy process of finding anything your looking for.

Looking for more forums like this one, "powered by vbulletin", is your footprint. Searching for .edu sites that have been spammed by viagra marketers, intext: viagra inurl:.edu. An easy wordpress footprint, intext:"powered by wordpress".

There are thousands of footprints and search queries that will dig up just about anything your searching for.

Others have answered it (footprints), so i won't bother.

But just a general comment, I think people spend far too much time on "crappy backlinks" instead of real backlinks. Because at a certain point, more crappy backlinks won't move any needles....you need some pages with real juice to start linking to you.

Absolutely in agreement. People can get even 1000000 backlinks. Volume is not important. The importance is in the anchor text and the related niche. The rest is just the crap.

Why not simply let other people do all the work?

There are many ways to look at another website's backlinks (Yahoo site search, findbacklink.com, many others) - just take a look at the top listed websites in your field - where did they get their backlinks? Copy them!

Occasionally this won't work - for example, when I provide links from one of my sites to another one of my sites - maybe I don't allow others to post a link... but in general, if another website got a link, you can duplicate what they did... post a comment, put up an article, etc.

Have you even heard Angela paul backlinks?

      You download it from this?

In any case, They are now in this forum which sold for $ 5.

I guess that goes to a marketing strategy.

Even thou backlinking is a tedious task, but definitely a lot of people buy these things.

Soon I will be give it for the free version pdf backlinks but There is paid as well and I would sell only for $ 1. But for now may be later.

Sometimes I wonder "Why bother duplicating their backlinks?". So I look at it further and find better backlinks. But that method is definitely a great starting pont.

Another thing you could do is reverse engineer what several of the top-ranking sites in your niche are doing for their backlinks. It may take some time to do this, but it'll be ultimately worth it if you're truly serious about ranking your site.

Well, I use yahoo explore. It is a great tool to find High quality backlinks.
Here are the steps to do it:
    1. go to Google, search your primary keywords
    2. record the pages that show up in the top 10
    3. use yahoo explore to see what backlinks they got
    4. Do exact same backlinks lol.
