No way to tell buddy. It all depends on your page one competition not the number of competitors. You could be there now or you may never make it at all. Good luck though!

Agree with David above. Do as much research on SEO as possible. Sometimes some real gems raise their heads (& some of them are so simple)

Basically the more work you put in the quicker you see that goal.

I myself have had pages with huge competition indexed on pg 1 within 2-3 weeks.
I am talking competition over 10 million.

Number 1 tip : First look at your page 1 search term competitor. Look at them very closely to see what you should be aiming at

Why are you going for such a high competition keyword?

Unless you have a really good reason, I would be targeting many different keywords that have lower competition, better conversion rates, and same overall traffic among all keywords...

For example,

Your scenario:
"Insurance", 1M exact searches per month, 5 years of SEO to rank number one.

Your competitors scenario:

"Get Insurance Quotes Online", 100K exact per month, 6 months to rank #1
"Buy Insurance Now", 100K exact/mo, 6 months to rank #1
"Buy Insurance From My Website Today!", 100K exact/mo, 6 mo to rank #1
..
..
..
..

There you go.. 10 phrases, able to rank faster, more targeted traffic (people who have there credit cards ready to go), and overall you get the same amount of traffic in the end...

Idea to get to page 1 faster. Look at the seo companies in the WSO section. They can do the seo work for you and link you faster since they have teams who do that.

Here's the best tip but it will probably be your most shunned.

Get off the forums and do some SEO work, you arent gaining any positions sitting here doing nothing.

Seo and Quick do not go together whatsoever

Focus on dofollow link building. But since you're targeting a highly competitive keyword, it's best that you naturalize your link landscape. Anyway, have you used your main keyword as your domain name?

It is one thing to get ranked #1 on Google and another thing to make money from those traffic. It is my belief that you can get to the #1 spot in Google for any keywords you want, the important thing is have you figure out a way to make money out of the traffic?

If you know that getting to the #1 position for your keyword can generate $x amount of dollars, you will just pay someone else less than $x to get the job done, no sweat, no frustrations....

High PR backlinks are also built using typical forum entries where you get a better readership. These pages are also found to have higher page ranking and having a backlink from such a higher ranked page is all the better to you! Another major source of good high PR backlinks are the news announcements. If only you could make the news, you will get all the advertisement you want for your site. What more can any one ask for?

If i need to be honest, I can't earn that much money from this site even the competition is very high.(It is an online-movies website so can't use adsense on this website.) I'm trying to raise on this keyword for to get experience on seo. Yes, maybe this is wrong for a newbie like me But I wanna try it anyways.

I just started using this service and have noticed an increase in my rankings for some decent keyword phrases: socialadr.com. In the past I would just bookmark my own sites...no real value there....but when you have a bunch of different people bookmarking your sites (with anchor text you choose) it has a much better effect.
