    Hi Alyson,

I suggest you go over this section of the forum. There are literaly thousands of topics on the subject. But most of all I would suggest you find XFactor method ( a thread about 30-40 PAGES long ) and read it.

It was one of my kick-starts to the world of adsense.

If you cant find it let me know.

    Sincerely, Buyseech

    Alyson,

Here is a brilliant (but very long) thread about AdSense, which I'd recommend reading, bit-by-bit (if necessary), in its entirety: XFactor's AdSense Thread.

Bear in mind that there are many approaches to take with AdSense. You can build big sites or small sites, and everything "in between".

A few more things to bear in mind:

    (a) SEO / Search Engine Optimisation is usually the primary means through which traffic is generated. This means doing keyword research to establish search volume, optimising your on-site content for "well-searched-for" keywords, and then building sufficient backlinks to each page you put online, in order to achieve a good ranking in the search-engines.

    (b) You'll only get a really good CTR (Click Through Rate) on your ads if they're relevant to your content and/or the keyword search-terms people typed in at Google/Yahoo/Bing/etc to find your site. You can try to do a bit of research through a site like SpyFu to attempt to establish the level of ad-relevance and get an idea of what sort of earnings per click you can expect to receive, before committing to target any keywords. Although it's by no means a fool-proof method, it can give you some idea of whether something's worth it.

    (c) You'll probably want an AdSense-optimised site layout. Everyone has a different idea of what constitutes a good layout for AdSense. Some people swear by putting the site navigation in an inconspicuous place, eliminating as many external links to other sites as possible, and reducing the amount of images. This is all based on the logic that the less distractions there are for the visitor, the more likely they are to simply click on your ads.

Again, there is lots of information pertaining to all this sort of thing in XFactor's thread, so I'd urge you to read that.

Once you have an idea of what it's all about, you will likely have further specific questions about what works and what doesn't - at which point you're encouraged to come and ask, and people like myself will be able to give you some feedback based on our own experiences. Note though, like I said, that there is no real "right or wrong" approach with AdSense. What seems to work for some, doesn't always work well for others. So it's important to do your own testing once you're up and running, so you can definitivey establish for yourself exactly what works best in each case.

    Good luck.

You should pick a few small niches from one or more hot markets, then build websites or blogs around these niches. Becaful when picking keywords for your adsense sites, i.e. high paying keywords with ultra competition are not what you want. Use many relatively low competition long-tail (LT) keywords is what you really want, ok?

    Hope this helps really...
