I Wonder Why My New Domain Doesn't rank For Its Homepage Title

Having exact match keywords in the title does not guarantee first page results. It will help with the rankings, but it will depend on other factors of SEO. It will also depend on the competition of the keywords.

I have 2 websites in the same general niche, with exact keyword titles, both with over 100 backlinks, and both with 12 articles written, and both are 6 weeks old. The only difference is the competition for the keywords.

The first one, with low competition, has been ranked #2 on Google, Bing, and Yahoo for a month.

The second one, with higher competition, isn't ranked in the top 100 yet on any of the search engines.

Here are some suggestions:

1. Add a blog to your website, if you don't already have one, write articles at least a couple of times a week. The search engines like content, and the more the better.

2. Keep building backlinks.

3. Work on your website as much as possible. The search engines seem to like websites that are active.

4. Add some less competitive keywords to your website.

It will take some time and effort to get to Page 1.

By the way i didn't mean to rank for a keyword from the title but for the title as whole which contains several keywords phrases.

Site of the title for example: title=Cheap Baby Cartoons - Discount Childen Toys -Awesome Adult Toys



I know i cannot be ranked for Cheap baby cartoons right now.

One week is not enough to rank a new website, especially if the competitor sites have been live for more than 6 months to a year..

Keep building more backlinks..

i suggest you if your domain is newly register and get live on internet, then wait for while they get prepare for search engine friendly indexing. It take 1 to 2 month for preparation. After that start with lower range of promotion. If you start heavy link building for newly launch domain then it directory impact on your indexing and google mark them as spamming.

The most important factor in ranking should be the level of competitiveness of keyword one is targeting.A low competition keyword might be ranked for in a month and for another keywords,it might takes 3-6 months of backlinking.
