Major sites buy quality backlinks, it seems that major companies can more easily get away with what a google rep? euphemistically called Business Development.

It's best to make back channel connections with webmasters, rather than going through some of the brokers that get you on obvious link lists. Take care, some bloggers feel a duty to report paid link seekers to google, some first buy test links to an insignificant site before risking their money site getting turned in.

I know this is weird given the information in my sig, but unless you get really lucky and/or you provide amazingly interesting/useful information on your site, it's very unlikely that you're going to land a high PageRank backlink without signing up for high PR backlink service.

Forget what Google tells you about "provide good content and people will link to you." Yeah, it might happen. A few times. But nowhere near enough times to really propel you up the ranks. At least, this isn't a reliable way to rank by any means.

Hi, you are doing right but try to post niche related content which your website is deploying, Find forums related to niche of your website and try to bookmark your site content over high PR bookmarking website. this will help you to get PR for your website. just check whether on site optimization is following the protocols or not.

my advice: find a real good forum, make some reasonable posts with link in sygnature, when there will be a Page Rank Update some of this threads will get PR > 0

or make a good article for Wikipedia about your niche and add "source link" to your money site.

there is plenty of methods and you don't have to have X.000.000 $ budget

Try pinging your approved articles and blog comments so that the links will get indexed also it will credit to your link popularity as well, and for your backlinks count too. You can also do social bookmarking, and ping your bookmarked page or site.

You'd be hard pressed to get a backlink on a page with actual PR. But everyone says that as long as the root domain has high PR, you will still get the link juice. Some agree, some disagree. I can't tell you for sure. Only Google knows the answer.

My advice - just build backlinks, get them indexed, and monitor your rankings.

Oh you get link juice alright. The only problem is that is is divided between you and a wave of other links drawing from where ever it links to, so link juice is diluted out.

Go for both, high pr pages which takes a lot of time and luck to find and go for quantity too, which means if you dont know where to start write or spin some article and submit it to article distribution services. There's couple of famous ones but im using spindistribute site, 4 bucks for some 1000 directories thats real cheap. As for high PR dofollow here's one tip for start. Find big blog directories and/or directories that are strictly related to your niche. Try to see if your blog can be put in more than one category and then check which category has higher pr and submit your blog there. You wouldnt believe how many times one category will be as low as NA and the second appropriate one up to pr 4-5. Good luck.

I'm experimenting with linkbait methods at the moment, the idea being to create stuff so good/funny/controversial/useful, that people link to my page and I get natural High PR backlinks.

      Lets see how it goes!

try to build up some web 2.0 sites and social media pages...sign up for an account on ping.fm or one like that. Don't start spamming your pages with links, throw up useful content that will make Google want to crawl your page often and that will pick up your backlinks and index them

High pr backlinks are a waste of time pursuing. Unless your link is on the index page of the high pr site you won't receive any extra benefit from it. So my advice is to tear up the pr 0's and the pr 1's. You'll be surprised how fast they will get the job done for you.
