ok sorry if the title of this thread is some kind of broken English but I will clarify it in here and here goes my question.

if you view a certain page were you can see your link and the site requires to log in in order for you to view the link. Is it true that the link is useless if backlink purposes are considered.

if you need to login to see the links they are no good, that means google needs to login also?

anyone can clarify me this scenario?

thanks to all in advance merry Christmas.

    Yes. You are correct.

If a login is required to see the content, google cannot see that content.

Google can see the content if the site owner allows Google bot to crawl the restricted area. I don't recall but I think website owner can allow it in Google Webmaster Tools.

      This is true.
Many websites allow Google Bots to crawl restricted areas.
By the way, there is a free Firefox add-on that allows any browser to identify itself as a Google Bot and surf into restricted areas.
You simply have to replace the user agent.
see an example of such an add on

No way. if it is a restricted area, needing a password, it is not crawled
        or indexed by google.

Google wants to supply results to searchers. Not joiners. Not to get you
to sign up to someone's program. If it is not available to the public when
surfing in, it is not going to get anything.

The way around this is to have freebies. Allow guests to surf around for
a set amount of time before being blacked out. A lot of news sites use
        this feature.

I do believe there is some way for adsense users to show related content
if the ads are on protected pages. This is a special case and actually reinforces
the fact that google will not crawl content behind a password. You must
have all pages approved by google. That is, you must show them a non-
protected page first. This keeps people from putting ads on sites that
break TOS, only because the are password protected and nobody can
        review them.

You can also allow google access to these pages, ONLY to supply targeted
        ads. https://www.google.com/adsense/suppo...y?answer=37081

This has nothing to do with indexing or crawling.
