Do you get high PR backlinks from commenting on blogs?

In Google I'm using "post a comment" inurl:blog name email website -"comments closed" -"you must be logged in" "keyword" to search for blogs to comment on and leave backlinks.

Almost none of the post pages are higher than PR 0 and most are N/A. Though some, when I check their home pages, will have decent PR.

Do I just need to grind through hundreds of websites to find the occasional PR 1 or 2 page to comment on, or am I doing something wrong?

P.S. I'm aware of other ways to get backlinks and I use some of them. This is what I'm working on right now.

Use the Custom date range option on Google and select the date range for a year ago that will get rid of all the new posts in the SE results with no PR.

FYI, PR hasn't updated since April so please don't base what sites you are commenting using that. Just use relevance and you will be fine.

I understand that comments near the top are more valuable, you might get in early and hope the pr grows over time, though I hear an old post is less likely to get re-crawled... ping?

Here' a page offering a few different custom searches, including Linklove and where Angela's been:

Results near the top using complex search queries wouldn't mean anything, I would guess. What does it matter if they rank for some obscure search term?

The more valuable ones is the ones that are on topic or within your niche for your site. Just focus on that. Old, new, dofollow, nofollow, tons of outgoing links, it doesnt matter. Just do relevant sites using the widest variety you can think of.

Remember making it look natural is the key.

think it goes beyond commenting with intention of getting the backlinks. Good comments on other blogs can attract you to the blog admin & other users that will want to build relationship with you, which can then leads to backlinks from anywhere you want on the page. More than that you can end up doing good business. I've been connected to people that matters for my niche projects - just from comments.

Unfortunately, what most do is mass spam commenting with intention of getting mass backlinks.

Page rank? I am not really sure if the comments are still adding up to what we call "page rank" but with Google not updating them anymore, who knows? better check up on which blogs really blends in with your niche and comment. It might not add up anything to your PR, but it leaves a backlink plus instant traffic if you got it right.

Use firefox verses I/E and install the seoquake plugin (search seoquake plugin) when you go to do your search at Google, you will get most the info you need right on the Google search page without having to check each page individually.
