Would it work to rank high in google with only one page website on a small/micro niche?

Good day blackers of the internet. I'm wondering about something, i have just started in the adsense business. I'm following FatCat principles that is find a good micro niche and write articles and build website about that niche, each website shall have 5-6 articles (pages)

Lets say the niche is "mmorpg games no download", which have 20k search monthly. But the competition in the search engines are low. Would it work if i just created a domain name with the niche keyword (mmorpggamesnodownload) and just make one page on the website, also no more pages than home page. If i also did market it well with massive promoting and link building, would i rank high? Or just dont google accept one pages?

Thanks

I've seen one page websites on the first page of Google

If competition is VERY low & you have exact mach domain then page one is possible with only one page site.

    Google ranks pages not websites

If you used Wordpress then yes but Google is less tolerent to one page sites then earlier in the year and beyond. I been having to beef up static one page HTML sites because they are not ending on the first page easily.

      I can vouch for this...........

BTW, if you're using WP, you can have a one page site with 100s of pages.........huh?

Just make your home page static. You will have to assign a page for posts but you don't have to list the page in your nav bar. Many themes allow you to pick which pages to make visible.

As far as google is concerned you have tons of content, but the only thing a visitor sees is your home page, assuming thats the page that shows up on G. Build internal links from your blog posts to your home page and don't build any inbound links to your blog posts if you only want your "1 page site" to rank

My current goal is to rank a website which only has a 500 word article on it.

I have one site like that that averages $1-2 per day with Adsense.
