I'm looking for a good post content filter plugin for Wordpress. Basically I need to filter out a few "bad" topics.

I'm also trying to weigh my options interms of post order. Should posts be ordered by Rating or Popularity. If you choose popularity then what plugin should I use for this purpose?

OMG, I didn't even read it. The guy has all kinds of profanity in his article. I definitely need to find a plug-in that I can use to filter out profanity.

Probably my hosting, but it could be any number of Anti-spam plugins that are stopping the page from loading.

I've got SABRE (you need javascript enabled to login) and Bad Behavior currently active.

With Registration enabled I've got to have something between my open back door and all these registration spammers that want to get in.

I feel bad, but I honestly don't know what I can do. What browser are you using? Are you using a proxy?

It's kind of misleading. Unless you link each and every article off the
main PR webpage, they are in fact getting a PR n/a link.

And a link on a PR4 webpage with a zillions links is not a PR4 link.

I said they'd have a PR 4 link for a while if no one else bothered to post. There's nothing misleading about that.

I would recommend not to do instant approval as you will soon find your article directory flooded with spam, low quality, irrelevant and spinned articles. I know that instant approval can be quite attractive for people who submit articles but unless you have somebody there 24/7 reviewing and moderating the articles then it is better to not instantly publish them before you go through the articles and moderate them.

        Thanks for the advice.

I was looking at all the different Wordpress anti-spam plugins and I came to the conclusion that I could cut down spam submissions considerably if I could eliminate ALL automatic registrations.

I don't think I will get a lot of spam content submitted manually.

With the WyPiekacz plugin installed I should be able to force strict content requirements. So that would work as kind of a second layer of defense.

Of course, I might be a little naive in thinking that my plugins can stop all automatic registrations or that people won't just post spam and spun content by hand.

Either way I'll keep you posted.

Eliminating all the automated submission will definitely help you to cut down on spam submissions.

But some people still take time to submit lot of rubbish manually as well.

What you have to watch out for:
          • Badly written articles
          • Spun content
          • Submitting same article under different categories
          • Submitting the same article with different title
          • Articles that are more like a sales letters
          • Articles not relevant to the category
In our article directory we can only approve very small number of articles. Only 10-15 percent of articles are good quality articles and half of them do NOT apply to the topic of our article directory, so we only can publish maybe 5 articles out of hundred.

It does take time to go through all the articles and to set it for auto approval would save lot of work and time but it would just be such a mess then.

Anyway, good luck with you article directory. I am sure you will find the best way to sort it all out.

I get what you are saying after seeing your article directory. I mean you've put a lot of time into keeping your approved articles high quality.

I definitely can't do that with automated solutions. I figure if an Article is really poor quality and someone has a problem with it they will just use the report button and I can take it down. I really don't have the man power to sort through 30 or 40 articles per day (if I ever get that many submissions).

I have a plug-in that will help sort out duplicate posts.

I was thinking the same thing. There are all kinds of linking services that promise links from PR 2-6 domains.

I figure I'd try just opening the domain up to the public (article directory) and see what happens.

For my sites, I have personally found that requiring email confirmation is the way to go with respect to stopping 99% of spam. Most spammers are just too lazy.
