Hello!

Prior to posting this thread I have been reading many posts on warrior forum about this subject.

...but

I still don't understand how to implement it.

I have currently 50 Ezines articles. I am in the process of distributing them to other directories like Goarticles and Articlebase. I have one blog and one squeeze page.

1) Is there a minimum number of web 2.0 that I should be linking to?
Hubpages
Squidoo
Tumblr
Wikispaces
Blogspot
WordPress
Wetpaint
livejournal.com
Webs.com
Blog.com

2) "....all link back to your money website"
Can it link back to my squeeze page?

3) "Link wheels are not natural, and they leave big footprints. Once identified, they scream "I'm just trying to game the search engines", and that's something they all frown on. Sometimes to the point of showing you the virtual exits"

The above message was copied from a thread. Basically, I would like to know the best "natural" way of doing link wheels.

Thanks for your replies

      Thanks for the illustration.

To be effective, how many web 2.0 do you recommend and which ones are the most effective?

Can the money site be a squeeze page?

      Thanks

Hey Friend as far as web 2.0 sites numbers is concern there is no set kind of minimum or maximum limit just start building linkwheel if you are building open end linkwheel and not closing it then you can make end number of web 2.0 properties.

as far as squeeze pages is concern yes you can use them as a money site there is no problem at all. even you can put any web 2.0 site in middle of this wheel just to avoid any newbie slap..

        Hope this will help you.
        Thanks.

Yes absolutely the money site can be a squeeze page....but even better how about a landing page with value...AKA a presell page/sales page where the person gets value, something free that makes them want the rest of the story and or the full product with the links to the actual money site.

Pre-selling is really important...even if you're just trying to get email and name for list builiding.

You're making it way too complicated.

Link wheels are old-school anyway and not necessary to do well.

Just focus on creating a good site/page to send people to and then get as many links from different web 2.0 properties and then just build links to those while linking to your money site/page.

Don't worry about how many and what type - just get started. You'll probably need way more than you think anyway.

    nothing to see here.

Linkwheel is just a name somebody made up to sell some product about how to get backlinks from web 2.0 sites.

I think one of the first people to talk about this idea in public online was Michael Campbell. He used to sell a couple of books that showed particular diagrams of ways to link site pages together.

There is nothing paricularly odd about having web 2.0 sites tht link to each other or that link to a page on your site. Lots of people do this.

You are not going to hurt your site by linking to it from a Squidoo lens. It may or may not help your rankings, but it is not going to give you a penalty.

I would focus on trying to build a landing site (squeeze oages and landing pages are 3 years ago IMO). Add unique daily content and build backlinks from high PR sites, this takes time but is a long term approach.

So, are link wheels basically linking your site to other sites with content ?
If so would linking my lets say dog groming site to my dog health site be linking to a link wheel ?

You have it backwards. Linkwheels are designed to bring links to your site. You don't link out to them.

A link wheel requires more than just one link from one site to another. Think of it as spokes on a wheel pointing to the hub, which is your site. The spokes come from social media.
