Well 2011 is the year i really want to jump start my internet marketing business.

The Niche i chosen out of personal interest is nutrition/alternative health. But i face a problem. Because this is quite a large niche i am having trouble picking the right URL.

Would it be best for me to go for a type of "brand url" instead of going for a niche specific url like nutrition-health.com

I plan to make a content rich blog type site.

Thanks.

I have the same problem, however I cam to this conclusion. Building a site that wants to focus on "everything" within your chosen market has less chance of becoming successful quickly than an ultra focused site like nutrition-health.com. I myself will be picking a topic and drilling down into the market until I find a niche I'm interested in a then aim to dominate that niche over the next year, I think that will be much more rewarding for me, readers and the search engines. Good luck in 2011 dude!

Some more input from other users would be useful.

The URL is the only thing holding me back from taking action.

I wouldn't do the brand if it is trademarked.

You might get a nice Cease & Desist letter.

I think your missing the point. What i mean by brand is that the URL i pick would have no SEOC until i start backlinking/article writing and advertising my site compared to say a niche specific URL what people are already searching for.
