I recently set up my first site now I need the traffic. I have read alot about SEO and backlionks but it's a lot to take in. I have written a few ezine articles and used somed other article submission resources. The thing is these didn't seem to give me any backlinks and they are all dofollow as well. As far as posting in forums there are really no forums for my particular niche. So my question is how would you direct traffic and create backlinks to this site. Also any other SEO tips would be greatly appreciated, and please be specific as possible for I am still new to this.

Thanks to every one at the warrior forum. This has been my rock, my go to place for the vast knowledge that every one is so happy to provide. I thank you for the education and the encouragment that has kept me striving forward always forward.

my site in is my signature

Thanks

    Hey,

Asked a similar question yesterday about back linking. The main thing that got said was do it slow. Keep submitting like articles like you are doing now and slowly build back links YOURSELF or outsource.

One day you should get there.

    Cheers

One of the things that you need to consider in regards to backlinking is this.

Do my backlinks hold any water, and are they viewed by the search engines as being of HIGH value...

One way of doing this is by writing unique content and submitting that to some of the higher valued article submission sites (enzine.com [spelling?!]).

Now... you may be asking where do i find content, and what do i write content on... well my friend one tool.

      MarketSamurai

This OUTSTANDING tool, through keyword research will help you find topics to write articles on as well as help find content that you can use as a diving or spring board to write your own content...

      Hope this helps at all.

It depends on what your niche is (are you selling real tangible products or info products)? Is this a money site you want to keep around for a long while? Assuming it is... I would start with directory submissions... just search for directories on this forum and you'll find dozens of ones that will submit to thousands. Next I would do research on the biggest competitor in your niche. Find out where he is getting links. If he has BBB links or Chamber links then you need to join. Yahoo links? You may want to buy it. Then work on writing and submitting articles, press releases, blog comments (follow) and others. If you have friends with Wordpress sites, get them to add you to their blogroll. if you do a favor for anyone...ask for a link.. etc etc There is no quick way to grow a real harvest ...go get em grasshopper!

Thanks for puting that in perspective for me. You are absolutly right it is going to take time and effort and I should consider it to be a long term goal. You just always hear about the guy who gogt to page #1 of google in a day or two and it just makes me think I can do it, but more often than not these results don't typically happen. I will keep writing articles and trying to improve my SEO and hopefully build the site up. Thanks again.

    Hello,

I am also new to this and would love to see some more feedback from the experienced Amazon affiliates.

One thing I can say to the OP is "Great Looking Site." What theme did you use there? I've been using flexibility3 but I'm not in love with it.

I am basically in the same spot as you. I did some research, found a niche and built a site. I populated it with about 7 articles (1500-2500 words each) for content. Each one targets different long(er) tail keywords. I'm promoting a clickbank product for mine but I may switch to amazon products (books) if they work better in the future.

    The problem? Traffic...
I don't get any! My niche is a little more competitive (10k globals per mo) so I know I have some work cut out for me if I want to rank but...

The site has been live for about 5 weeks now. I have purchased 30k profile links and I took each of the 7 articles, posted it to eza and about 10 other top article directories by hand. Each one has 2 links back to my pages in the resource box.

Then I took each one and spun the titles, posted it to about 30 blogs each and used AMR to post each one to another 1400 or so lower grade article directories.

So far yahoo site explorer shows only about 100 backlinks out of the 40,000+ that I've created and my site is nowhere to be found. I think I'm flopping around at page 49 in Google atm. So I rank around 490ish, lol.

I know it needs more content and more backlinks but I sure thought I would have see better results so far. I'm now torn between starting a new site in a less competitive market or keep trucking with this one.

Do I just need to wait for more of my backlinks to get found or is this percentage (100 out of 40000) pretty normal? if thats normal then I'll need several 100's of thousands of links. WOW!

So I don't know, maybe I'm missing something important with regard to my backlinking efforts.

By the way, there are sites on page 2 that have only a 10 or 20 backlinks showing and they are PR N/A backlinks. My site shows over a hundred but I'm on page 49??? What the heck am I missing here?

Please give backlink advice for us noobs! All I really want right now is to make a site that can make $1 per day. That's all it will take for me to be completely convinced that I can do this but so far it is eluding me.

Get ranked fast is a myht bros! You need to keep working on article marketing and specially I suggest you to make a research on linkwheels. It works pretty well for new sites. And please take it easy building backlinks! Google is not stupid and if they suspect you are bulding massively backlinks in a short period of time and your site is totally new, they will flag you as a spammer and you never going to get your rankings...at least in google.

Thanks for the reality check. I guess it's just too soon to tell. I just keep hearing people talk about putting up niche sites and driving them to page 1 in about a month or two with massive backlinks.

I also hear them say that the google "sandbox" is a myth and so naturally I started backlinking like a madman.

There are so many differing opinions on these forums about which approach is best. For a newbie like myself, it's a complete guessing game because I don't have years of my own experience to draw from.

Even now, I don't know if I should slow down on the backlinks, keep it up or let it go and watch it for a bit while I work on a new site.

Just do not keep off your eye of your new site, keep working on it til you force your site to make you money, stay always motivated, and do not procrastinate. It is vital for everybody to success...Keep working on backlinks in a daily basis, split test your site (change fonts, colors) and keep working on it.

I would avoid massive link creation methods that "everyone else" is doing. Easily obtained links are often the lowest in quality. If anything, make sure you are supervising the links you are getting and checking them for quality as you go.
