Make backlinks is the answer, if you don't want to do it yourself hire someone for few bucks an hour and they can do it for you.

Apply a online job for a position of seo.

Not sure if my last message came here?
    Anyway here it is again.
Is this correct, backlinks are if another website puts a link on theirs to my site ?
I just checked mine on a backlink checker, it says I have 848 on it, is that ok ?
Can I do it myself, how ?

i agree with all above that backlinks are key, but if you have 800+ links and aren't ranking well then I would imagine you are in a really competitive niche or your site isn't well optimized?

are you monitoring site traffic via analytics, do you know what your bounce rate is etc might not be a case of traffic, if you are getting plenty of visitors and not converting sales then you might want to look at your site design, flow and customer experience. Then maybe re-design?

Hi there, thanks for revealing your websites, it makes the discussion much easier and focused!

Here are a few considerations that might help you:

      1. The strong point of both websites is that you aim at social media engagement. The social media buttons are well-placed, and it's great you've created special accounts for your businesses. So just work hard on consistently building your following. Read about social media marketing, think about the ways you can drive targeted traffic to your websites and improve loyalty of your customers. That's very important, and that's expertise beyond SEO.

      2. I find both websites decent from the point of view of on page SEO. The content, design and usability are absolutely fine. I wouldn't be much focused on redesign.

      3. Judging from the title, description and keywords set up, you have a number of keywords you target to rank high for in organic search. Check out your rankings for each of the keywords. If you lag behind your competitors (like you're not in top50), consider another tour of keyword research:
      - find long-tail keywords that are often searched for but face little competition (Google AdWords Keyword Tool, for a start)
      - find keywords that bring traffic to your website (Google Analytics)

      4. The most important part is link building. Learn whatever you can find about white-hat link building. If you do it yourself, best options are writing guest posts to other people websites; submitting your articles to quality places like squidoo and hub pages (those are article directories, but best ones).
      Use your keywords as anchors.

These are the main steps. You can outsource any step of your online presence optimization, but I think you should first have a clear picture of best practices yourself.

      Hope this helps

There are so many ways and SOOOOOO many threads in this SubForum that answer this question I can't believe you asked it.... Did you scroll down page ONE of the Adsense/SEO forum before you posted this thread?

Simple answer. On-site and Off-site optimization. Both are free (if you know how to do it).

Backlinks seems to be the majority of everyone's votes because that is correct...! If you want to learn how and where to get backlinks read a couple posts.

While I agree with Scott, I have to say, when I was new here, I used to do the same thing. I think most newbies do that because they think they are the only one facing that particular issue or they are the only one asking that question.

And I think instinctively you just post the question without thinking that hey maybe somebody already asked this.

On the other hand, sometimes its good to hear the obvious stuff again. Many of us tend to overlook the obvious.

By the way, happy to see a Warrior from STL, Scott.

You need some content on there (lockmonster site). The site layout is not great and could be improved.

It looks way too keyword-stuffed. Is there any content on there that isn't one of the keywords you are targeting?

Spread out the categories more. There's far too many categories on the home page. Stick to just a few keywords on the home page.

Even if people click on your site, you're not really enticing them to buy. Tell me something about your business on the home page. All you are doing is throwing up a bunch of products and saying "here you go, buy it".

One other thing on the keyword stuffing.........

You use the keyword "locks" 5 times in your title tag. You shouldn't use it more than 2-3 times (if that). Put everything together in some way but you don't need to list every specific type of lock you sell on your home page title tag. Put them in the title tag on their specific pages. And make the title tag a little more catchy and not so long.

I dont think software or traffic is your immediate issue, the fact is if 100 new people came to your site, how many of them would a) think it looks trust worthy to buy from and b)how many would find it easy to navigate etc

as its been touched on your site is just too cluttered and too complex, also doesnt look like the safest of sites to buy from. I would sort your site our and tidy it up, before pushing for more visits. Also look at the tags and keywords as advised.

The best way to push your site up the SERPS is simple:

    1) Keyword optimise your site

    2) Build quality, relevant links back to your site.

    Voila - that's SEO.

Not just any backlinks, but backlinks from sites/pages with relevant content (to your site content).

Go where your market is and try to get backlinks/traffic from those locations.

I think your sites look great! You just need to keep adding good unique content to the product/category pages and build related links pointing to them.

I sell printer ink in the UK and wondering if you could let me know your designer and rough cost to produce sites like these?

      Cheers, John

Your PR (page rank), age of domain, quality of backlinks, etc etc, all help factor in where your site ranks for keywords you and your natural backlinkers have chosen.

It seems everyone remembers that "Backlinks" are good for ranking up your site but I think a lot of people forget how important On-Page SEO is.

Try ranking a site about billiard tables for the keyword "Hot dogs for sale." You'll have a rough time because billiard tables have crap to do with hot dogs, for sale even!

Good on-page SEO compliments quality backlinks in ways that no one should EVER forget.

LSI Content and On-Page are certainly where you can save half dozen of your cost.

IMO, backlinks are optional depends on your competitor.

I can rank a low competitor with just a few articles, but it takes a little time.

    You sound frustrated.

Anyways, SEO is free, if you do it yourself.
Media buys are paid methods, even if you manage it yourself.

So when you hear people saying seo is free or Earn money without any money through seo is true to a certain extend that is if you do it yourself.

And even then you need to hav a budget like any other business, like pay for auto responders, etc.

If you want to do SEO yourself then this is a good thread i recommend.

I AGREE! Quality Backlinks are one major key. It will not only drive traffic to your website but you will also create an authority. This way, you will be easily recognized by search engine algorithms. The website with the highest authority has the highest chance to be on the first page generated by search engine results. But successful backlinks need deep knowledge of your industry; it takes a lot of time.

Do build quality links by checking your competitors website links with some of the useful tools like "Alexa" and also do directory submission and social media profile building but add unique content on directories related to your keywords. Also make profiles on google+, twitter, facebook, tumblr, and many other website depending upon your competitor website analysis.
