contextual and reciprocal links?

First of all, merry 2011 to you all! I am pleased to announce that "bigbootays101 . com" has risen to #13 in google

we recently got a backlink from two different #1 google ranked sites which may have something to do with the google love - soon after that I was told: "hey, you should also add reciprocal and contextual links back to them on your main page" which I did.

I've heard mixed opinions on this and thought I'd come here to clear it up once and for all.....

    Link back to google? I wouldn't, but if you must I would at least no follow the link.

    Links out to authority sites can help your ranking, but if they are your competitors then I would avoid it.
