Is adsense a must for IM?

Hello,

I am new to IM and trying to learn as much as possible. The question is... is it a must to have adsense in order to earn money? Are there people who create a website solely only on a clickbank product without adsense or other ads?

Hope to hear some advice

Regards,
Heavenstorm

Adsense is not a requirement, its just another potential revenue stream.

There are many people who make a good living without using adsense as a way of monetizing their sites.

I would say adsense is a must ONLY if one is brand brand brand spaking new to IM.

Article writing is the easiest way to start making an income online. I got my start doing this, and with the funds I made, I was able to invest in my future. A year later, and here I am, typing this on my new computer in my new house.

Happy new year, and best of luck.

I feel that it's not a requirement, but if you know what you are doing you can make some pretty good money with it.

No, adsense is not a must.

It depends on your business model. In my experience, people try to do too much and lose focus on the page - meaning, they try to build a list, sell a product, and have adsense on the page.

    Wrong wrong wrong.

You should focus on just ONE outcome and goal on your page. That is either sell a product, build a list, or have adsense.

If you do too much, it loses focus and you'll likely fail at all of them.

So, if you are going to do adsense, just focus on that. Learn the best places to place the ad's on the page. Learn and experiment with wording, pictures, that can help draw attention to the ad's, and then have great content to keep the users on the page and not hitting the back button.

Don't worry about doing other stuff like, just focus on that.

A lot of folks act like you can't have both (Adsense + list), I've done it without any problems for multiple sites all in the same niche.
Most people don't know how to handle it - so my best recommendation is just to focus on one thing.

Which is why I said that.

Yes, what you speak of will work just fine - but not many will implement it correctly.

Also, it greatly depends on your strategy and business. There are many factors involved, so if you are new starting out - keep it simple and focused.

It usually depends on how much work you want to put into it. Most of the time you can make more money going other routes, and then adsense just becomes a traffic leak, costing you revenue. I use adsense on sites when I can find no other way to monetize them. - And that's not very often, because I think of ways to monetize before I ever build.

            I agree.

Adsense definitely is not a Must and for me it is probably a last resort.

Yeah, I know that some people make a lot of money with adsense, but its not for me.

I focus on building sites that promote highly searched physical products that have low competition. Good luck.

                Here is my best advice:

Dont listen to the hype, like "Learn how to make 5 figures this month".

To build a successful IM business, it will take lots of hard work, and there are no easy shortcuts.

Just try to keep that in mind as you are learning. It will help you stay focused.

Thats a great goal to start with. Just try and make a little more each month. Thats what I do and I now make a full time income online. It took me about a full year to do it, but thats a realistic time frame if you work hard at it.

Here are a few marketers that I learned from and will help lead you in the right direction if you are interested in promoting physical products.

I was just about to type this exact thing after reading your first post Rob, but you beat me too it (all the better).

@Heavenstorm - it's ok to experiment, just (as Rob suggests) try to focus on a strategy - implement something and see it through.

          All success.

There are very few things that are "a must" for internet marketing, and AdSense is not one of them. I use it because I'm fairly new, but it only makes sense for certain markets and certain situations.

My AdSense income is crap, and so is my CB income. Most of my money comes from directly marketing my own products, and the only other significant income is from building products for others.

There are a lot of ways to make money in this business. The question is which ways fit best with the ways you're delivering value to the market.

Adsense is just a little extra bunce, although it can give your pages a more credible appearance. Best to concentrate on creating really relevant content, and then getting backlinks to your site. Whether you choose to market digital Clickbank products, physical goods from Commission Junction for example, or Amazon, the relevance of, and frequency with which you add original content will prove more beneficial in the longer term.

definitely not a must, but its a great source of either primary or secondary income for any given site

To get the most out of adsense, you also need to do proper research (as usual) and then find keywords which are "bigger ticket" but lower competition and has decent traffic. Easier said than done and require some time to find, but I reckon it is worth it if you are serious about making the money.

    My 2 cents.

    Cheers

Adsense sites can be one of your income streams. The beauty of it is that you can let it run by its own. A truly passive income source.

But if you are a new, I totally support Rob's view, in that you must have focus.

If you decide to do Adsense, stick to adsense. You will see better result than trying to juggle different forms of income. Of course, once you get the hang of it, you can branch out.
