    My wife and I have been using good old Statcounter since 2004 - it gives us enough information to know what is going on our WP blogs.

    It's free too....... ;-)

    $php_coding = "consistent cash";

    echo ("Give me" . " " . $php_coding . "!");

      Agreed. Statcounter shows more than GA, way more. Even the IP of the visitor. You can block the counter from recording your own visits as well as as visits by other users by creating a cookie or adding the IP addresses.

      You can see the exit links as well as downloads from your pages.

    I did a little research and found some decent alternatives to Google Analytics for Wordpress blogs.

    GA works best for me - but I'm not using WP though.

      Hi Guys, I use Piwik - Web analytics - Open source , it does almost the same as google analytics. Its great and a the best alternative for google analytics You just need to install it on your own server, not that difficult, hope this will help you out. I can't post links lol, just posted my six message. just do a google search for piwik.org

        We're also using Piwik on trial and I have to say it's very good.

        I'm very suspicious of one company having stacks of my data (Google) and my clients' data. So I'm going to be ploughing along with Piwik. Looks damn good, and it's FREE!

    I still use Google Analytics but StatCounter is a pretty good alternative. If you're doing a lot of tweaking on your site it's really good to be able to set it up to ignore your own site visits in order to give a truer picture of your page hits..

    Hope this helps...

      I also will recommend StatCounter. As far as I know it is the best alternatice to google Analytics, but it has less features.

        Agreed Statcounter stands out amongst the rest (and has a new Beta version on the way) and for the level of “Drill down” gives more than enough info for most of us.

        Very fast to setup and add to your website, recommended!

    Our biggest concern with GA is it slows down the loading of the site.

    Any experience any slowdowns or speed increases using Piwik on their server or Statcounter which runs on their own site?
